Personally I like it, I don't love it, but it's unique and seems to make good use of space. I do find the podium a little underwhelming though.

Really hoping this project turns out to be a great community space on the ground levels, especially with the new indoor farmers market coming soon to the transit terminal!

Does anyone have any updates on this? I know developments take a long time but this seems to be taking forever to get any new information lol

Update: The development has been approved for 12 stories instead of the original 15. Will be similar in height to Lakhouse which is currently being built on the other side of the currently standing building.

BUILD IT. Barrie's walk score needs desperate improvement. As well the short walk to the GO station will be beneficial to the residents and with increased usage of the Allandale station will likely bring more improvement to it over the years.

Have been following the Smart Centres/Menkes developments for quite some time now. I personally enjoy these new developments coming to Vaughan as it is an extremely car-dependent city. While it is sad to see the theatre be demolished I think that this project will benefit the city in the long...

I also think Barrie is a pretty good place to be! I do think that the new developments being proposed in downtown and North Barrie (Georgian Mall area) will make the appearance and walkability much better! Definitely very excited for Debut and Lakhouse to be completed.
