A Mississauga Transit Dwell Time Christmas Tale

I dont think i'd even attempt to ride the transit in Mississauga on a sunday if it involved a transfer. Unless it was like the 26 to the 19 where I could wait inside the warm terminal while waiting for the bus to come for 30 mins.

A Mississauga Transit Dwell Time Christmas Tale

A Mississauga Transit Dwell Time Christmas Tale

Mississauga Transit follows their sunday schedule for holidays. If buses are dwelling for 20 mins out of 60 they need to rethink their holiday/sunday schedules. Ive said it once and Ill say it again, SPEED IS A HUGE ISSUE when it comes to getting people to switch from a car to transit. Do you...

A Mississauga Transit Dwell Time Christmas Tale

What is the deal with Mississauga Transit's dwell times? I used to live in Mississauga for 14 years between 1990-2004, and I remember these annoying dwell times from that era. I now live in the Queen & Roncesvalles area but I took a trip out to Mississauga recently to visit my parents at...

A controversial thread about handicapped people

Actually thats incorrect as I have just researched the numbers. The fish bowl buses had 55 seats and the new low floor buses have 39. Thats 16 less seats or 29% less seats. That's a big number anyway you look at it. Losing 16 seats on everybus to accommodate less then 1% of Torontos...

A controversial thread about handicapped people

What about the loss of seating? Believe it or not im sure there's a lot of people who dont ride transit because they cant sit down. Less seats also means less seats for people with mobility issues.

A controversial thread about handicapped people

Youre right, I dont know what its like to have to use a mobility device. What I do know though is that I ride the TTC a lot and have honestly never seen someone with a mobility device ever use the TTC in all my years riding. Wheel Trans should be $2.75, even if they lost money on it (which...

A controversial thread about handicapped people

Now before I ask the question to everyone here that I'm going to ask I want you all to know that I have nothing against physically impaired people at all. I think they deserve rights as much as anyone else. That being said though, I have a problem with the way TTC has changed to help these...

    Splitting the 501 Queen Streetcar

I totally agree with that article. I said the same thing in the first post that It would be very annoying if you were travelling further west then Shaw. I really dont understand why they wouldnt make it short-turn at Roncesvalles instead of Shaw.

    Splitting the 501 Queen Streetcar

It's congested because its a busy area! Why would they send less streetcar service????

    Splitting the 501 Queen Streetcar

I live at Queen st. W and Roncesvalles ave. and I'm going to be pissed if I'm waiting for a streetcar at Queen and Bathurst in -15 C snow storm weather only to see one come by that doesnt go all the way to Roncesvalles. The short turn for westbound streetcars should be at Roncesvalles not Shaw...

    Splitting the 501 Queen Streetcar

And its not like every streetcar goes the whole route on its current service. I dont know about the east bound cars but the west bound cars all dont go all the way to long branch. A good bunch already turn back at Humber and Roncesvalles. So most of the street cars are already concentrated...

    Splitting the 501 Queen Streetcar

I just read this on the Transit Toronto website and I had no idea this was coming dispite the fact that I live on Queen St. W in Parkdale. So anyways what do you guys think of this? I personally think its stupid. My reasoning is that it just seems adding slow turns of streetcars at corners...

Automation: the answer to our prayers?

One question though. How can an automated system control the doors for the subway train? That part of operations kinda needs a human discretion.
