What about the thousands of people that live in Manhattan skyscrapers? How do they get down the stairs in that situation.

That holographic artwork or whatever it is looks terrible. Hopefully the exterior station reno is done well.

Toronto public transit suffers while car is king: Hume

Agreed. I'd rather have a few parking garages here and there that are large and can accommodate lots of vehicles than having cars parked on the right lanes of busy street. Espeically since many of Toronto's downtown streets are narrow and have like 2 lanes (a few exceptions like University ave...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

^^This is exactly what Im saying!!! I sure wish some of our latest buildings constructed had some unique top feature to them. With the exception of Trump and maybe the topping out L Tower, every other building is a flat box on top. I wish the Four Seasons had some type of "pointyness", which...

Toronto's U/C numbers are easily top 10 in the world (in terms of U/C vs. metro population ratio) and #1 in North America.

^I'm speaking terms of height. That's why I mentioned "super-talls" and what not in my post. To make such buildings stand out in our skyline and from a far, just like the CN did for the city in 1970's. There really hasn't been that one yet so far in this building boom from One King West in 2005...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

^I hope so. Because our building boom of the 70's resulted in a iconic 500+ metre tower. Hopefully we get some type of signature project in this boom as well.

Not to bad mouth this project, which I think is okay... But for being located at such a prestigious Toronto address (1 YONGE Street), I expected something a bit more "iconic" and "unique" and "taller" for Toronto... at least two super-talls. Add in some spires, or crowns or something to make...

    400 foot List

I agree. And we all know Chicago had a head start when constructing their buildings, but now T.O. is slowly closing the gap.

    400 foot List

Amazing. If those 400 footers were actually 500+ feet...We would then have more 500 footers than Chicago (they have about 108 right now).

    400 foot List

Interesting note... Right now (according to Wikipedia) there are 71 completed buildings over 400 feet in Toronto. And the U/C list of buildings over 400 feet in Toronto on Wikipedia has 23 buildings (the list includes Aura, L Tower, Hullmark, One Bloor, Ice 1&2, etc). Which means we will have 94...

I agree with this. Toronto isnt really a great city in that dept. I was just stating transportation related projects in the city. Thats all. We all know how horrible the ttc is, bad city planning in terms of roads/highways, how bad traffic/congestion issues are in the city and so on.... Look at...
