Ford asks province for more than $150M

Don't worry guys, "Toronto has a spending problem, not a revenue problem." This was just for fun or something...we didn't actually need that money.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Except this time, the guy looking for the report is also looking for an expert-approved list of things that should be cut.

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I tihnk we're more likely to get one of his trademarked "We just can't afford it right now"s, followed by some sort of tax cut.

    Small Ticket Changes

I'm pretty sure you're looking for more system-wide suggestions, but I've got a specific change I'd like to see....an express branch of the 53 that shot down the 404 to Don Mills Station, rather than having to crawl all the way to Finch Station. The vast majority of 53 E/F riders have boarded...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I'm kind of ambivalent on the whole postering thing. My pet peeve is the amount of posters for shit that happened ages ago. "Oh, look. DJ Tit-Monkey played at some club 3 months ago. Woohoo?" If the old ones were removed in something resembling a timely manor (or ever!!!) there'd be a lot...

    Eglinton-Crosstown Corridor Debate

What the hell are you talking about??? Queen LRT? Pape and Dundas W stations connecting to what? If you're talking about prep'ing for a DRL, may I remind you that this line has no funding, no EA, no strong political backing...it's basically a line on a series of fantasy maps, and even those...

Rail: Ontario-Quebec High Speed Rail Study

Yeah...every time I take the train I think "Wow, we are going really fast!" ;)

Globe: Toronto needs strong mayor with veto power, Doug Ford says

Veto power would be Fordo's dream come true. Check out his voting record from his years in council.....if there was a 40:2 vote, he was always among the 2.

    Eglinton-Crosstown Corridor Debate

From all the discussion here over the past few years, Finch seemed like the only one everyone agreed on. It's really a shame this one's going down. I'd gladly take ECLRT in-median east of Don Mills (rather than grade separated) to free up funding for a FWLRT. And yet, I know what you mean...

Toronto soon to be North America's 4th largest?

To asnwer your questions: No. Yes, absolutely we can. Rarely. New arrivals aren't placed anywhere. There is a shit-load of social housing all over the old city....not sure what that has to do with growth or immigration though.

    are you referring to this?

    Transit City Plan

Assuming demand does exist...is this really the best spot to be putting all these towers? As long as the DT core is still the primary employment center, all those people will be funnelled onto the already overcrowded Yonge line (not to mention the DVP).

How big are the shelves displaying these LRVs?

    Transit City Plan

That's how I read this too...and I'm very confused as to why council would have any interest in this. Is Ford just looking for a way out of his Sheppard Subway promise?

Stash the trash: Takeout coffe cup deposit at Tim Hortons et al?

Beer bottles are reused. Aluminum cans have a monetary value. Why would Timmies want a pile of filthy paper cups being brought into their stores? A more realistic policy would probably be one resembling the plastic bag fee currently in place. Don't want to pay the 5-25c fee?...bring your...

Still a lot of ignorance from the downtowners re: T.O?

I think we need to face facts... -the GTA is now 'Toronto' -Toronto is 'Toronto-Toronto' -Old Toronto is 'Downtown Toronto' -Downtown is...come to think of it, I'm sure how 905ers refer to our actual downtown

He is the source. He heard it from himself. He's been working with the new trains.

    MoveOntario 2020: GO Transit Electrification

You would, as more customers in the private sector means more income and more profit. For the TTC those "customers" may bring in revenue, but each "customer" they gain actually costs them more money. The only way they directly benefit from more riders is when the cost-per-rider goes down...
