    Toronto 2 Queen West | 34.44m | 7s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Cadillac Fairview has no interest in improving anything along Yonge there. They want people to be inside the mall rather than outside of it and what's worse, is they have extended as far out on the sidewalk as they possibly can to maximize their square footage.

MINISO expansion into the Canadian market

There's already a Daiso in Vancouver. I hope if they ever come here they have those cheap clear umbrellas like they do in Japan.

What bricks and mortar retail will always remain bricks and mortar?

the very high end and the very low end will remain b+m.

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

Yes, but those 200,000 people have had fair warning.

    Dead/Decaying Malls of Greater Toronto

It worked well enough for a number of years until Pacific Mall was built right next to it.

    Markville Renovations and Retail Thread

I guess the trend nowadays to have a car dealership in all suburban malls. Tesla at Yorkdale, Porsche at Square One and now Mercedes in Markville.

    Toronto 2 Queen West | 34.44m | 7s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Would be small compared to the suburban Simons stores but would be similar in size to the Saint-Catherines St. Simons.

    Toronto Spire Condos | 144.77m | 45s | Context Development | a—A

I really hate walking past this building after it snows. The melting snow falls onto the sidewalk like a waterfall. Can the city do anything to force this building to fix this?

    Uniqlo

That's the thing though, they are high-quality basics (which is great and I have an entire wardrobe of Uniqlo items) but they are never going to be statement pieces. They are the building blocks of a good, well-tailored, outfit.

    Looking for rentals in Downtown

Near UofT but no students? Good luck. Hope that someone knows of a building that strongly enforces rules so maybe at least those students aren't always disturbing the peace.

    Uniqlo

Okay, the man bun I'm pretty sure is something that trended in Japan first. And don't expect Uniqlo or Muji to start any trends in fashion here. They sell the basics and at most, have a designer collaboration to spice up some staple pieces. Nobody's going to Uniqlo and buying those puffer style...

    Uniqlo

First time I've heard an assertion that the Japanese are late to trends. Visit Tokyo and your mind will change. As for the puffer jackets, it was a trend here but for Uniqlo, it's a winter staple.

    Yorkdale Shopping Centre

They do. I remember when they started upgrading them like a decade ago and it's been a trend for many shopping centres. For someone who hates using public washrooms it's nice that they made it so I don't have to touch anything.

    Uniqlo

I think the Met and Guggenheim are in what's considered the Upper East Side.

    Uniqlo

Which ones are specifically the MoMA collaboration? When I was in Tokyo last year the Ginza skyscraper store, with their floor dedicated to t-shirts, had Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Roy Lichtenstein designs. Also, I don't know if it was a MoMA thing but Uniqlo has had Keith Haring...

    Uniqlo

Even in Japan not all their stores carry the designer t-shirts. However, usually there's one store in each city that has at least a partial selection of t-shirts.

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

That would be nice and hopefully they get rid of this thing: https://www.thestar.com/yourtoronto/the_fixer/2016/09/25/strange-structure-in-playground-has-unusual-link-to-school-fixer.html

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

None of this is new. They've tried new leadership several times already. I imagine morale at the company has been low for at least 5 years now. At this point it's simply surprising that Sears Canada has lasted this long.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

Surprised it took so long. It was an odd location for them.

Moss Park / Queen & Sherbourne

Respect. Unfortunately most people (myself included) aren't as unselfish and willing to do that.
