Coming in on the Gardiner this morning you could really see the Ritz stand out..the slant and prodruding top was a nice accent to our skyline's rather unrelieved boxiness.

Digging is well underway and there is a lot of activity on the site on weekdays.

I saw some activity along Adelaide a few weeks ago but it was outside the hoarding. Otherwise the site is static. There is a sales centre in the Quad Lofts building on Brant with a scale model of the building.

This needs to be a signature tower at this location and at this height. It also seems to have a large floor plate so I am hoping the architecture is worthy of the location and size. I am not sure a large box is what we need here.

hopefully they will install LEDs on those boxes too.

Its funny we never had this "blocking views" debate for all the other City Place towers as they were built!... hmmm.... seems like a canard to me.

I agree with the sentiment of the group here. Why the city allowed a single story use here..especially by a publicly-regulated entity like LCBO is beyond me.

i have posted before that I think this is the ideal site for a supertall. However if not a supertall then a european style square, with cafes and space for lounging would be perfect. We have few such spaces in Toronto. I would prefer that to a mid size boxy condo which we could have...

301m and 86 storeys would make it the tallest building in Canada beating FCP's 298m. Who thinks this is realistic information? Sounds like the financing and sales of the building are sound..but I wonder if they will run into construction financing problems the way the Vancouver Olympic Village...
