I know that Metroman. I just thought it might be a more appropriate setting for the sign. Mix the old with the new. I do agree though that if Ryerson signed an agreement to keep the sign as part of the new development then they should keep up there end of the deal and find a suitable place for it.

I think the sign should be placed on top of 10 Dundas East. It would fit right in with all the other ugly signs and billboards.

I agree with you Big Daddy. All one needs to do is look at the Gare Montparnasse in Paris to see what can be achieved. They have offices, housing, a park with numerous tennis courts all of which are built directly over the train tracks. We could have had a giant park covering those rail lines...

Thank you everyone for the updates. Can't wait to see this one rise.

Does anyone have any updates on this tower? Has it hit street level yet?

Think Skye I like aA's design for Skye Halifax. I think this would have been a twist on the usual box design we've seen in Toronto.http://www.dailycommercialnews.com/article/id47070/--united-gulf-to-build-48-storey-towers-in-halifax

Have they done an official measurement of the height of the spire to comfirm that it is higher than Scotia (allowing for height correction), or is that just the height the spire will be regardless of whether it is taller or not?

Casa 2 When I heard that they were planning to build a second tower I immediately thought of Roland Colthoff's design submission for Absolute 4 & 5. See image. It has the same linear form as Casa but with a twist and some colour. All the design needs is the hat roof.

Toronto Richmond Adelaide Centre: EY Tower | 188.05m | 40s | Oxford Properties | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I believe this building should be taller so that it complies with the city of Toronto's new building heights as suggested on the Downtown Vision Height Map. This building falls within the district of 137m, 45 st to unlimited height. If the city if cutting back the height of other buildings...

I agree with canarob. I really dislike this slab design. The balcony treatment is very similar to 12 Grenville. This will be a major Yonge street development, can't we get something more original? We need another Absolute not The Crossways.

Nice renders CN. 2 round towers with parking at the base sounds to me like Marina City in Chicago. Could we perhaps see a 2011 Toronto version of these iconic towers???

    Toronto Pinnacle Centre Condos | 161.84m | 55s | Pinnacle | P + S / IBI

Does anyone have any recent shots of this building? Is this tower close to topping out?

Really crudely: Attachment 6874 Not every building will have a transfer slab. On most buildings piles are driven into the bedrock and columns are placed vertically above them all the way up to the top of the building, so that in effect the penthouse is sitting on a column that reaches all...

    Toronto 335 Yonge | 55.2m | 16s | Lalani | Zeidler

I had passed by that building the night before on my way to HMV. It was my first opportunity to see firsthand the prior wall damage. I had always admired that building and I am sad that it was lost in the fire. I remember dancing at a night club that was upstairs in that building. Does anyone...

    Mississauga Absolute World | 169.77m | 56s | Cityzen | MAD architects

There was nothing stopping Great Gulf from having an open design competition for One Bloor's location. Perhaps Toronto could have had something more iconic for that corner if it had done what Fernwood did. Fernwood/Cityzen seem to be builders to be creating iconic buildings in the GTA (Absolute...

I was walking down Wellesley today and it looked like Uptown was getting its fins at the top on the East side. Can someone confirm this?

What are they doing to that one tower at the T-D centre (as shown in Caltrane's post #1390)?

Does anyone know why they chose to start installing the balcony glass part way up on building #4 rather than start at the bottom and work their way up?

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

On the artist's render, the glass appeared lighter on the RH side of the front of the building than the LH side. However, the glass on the building appears to be all the same colour (no contrast). Does the tint of the glass look different in person? Has anyone else noticed the difference between...

    Toronto Theatre Park | 156.96m | 47s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

I love the design of this project and I hope it was approved. I find it odd that the city thinks that this building it is too tall for that location, yet one block south they approved the 53 s Ritz-Carleton development. Does anyone have any news regarding the results of the OMB hearing?
