UGH this is really, really upsetting. It's bad enough that they're completely blocking Woodsworth College's eastern exposure (some of the best classrooms on campus) but with the original design I could've lived with that sacrifice. The redesign is a monstrosity.

Clean, simple, and a nice nod to the nabe's historical built form... seems a tad big but not too big, I think. Hopefully that dumpy building to the South (McDonalds and the erstwhile Acky Tree) + the TD at the SW corner of the intersection will be next!

it's a lamborghini gallardo... sleek, but relatively commonplace :P (edit: oops didn't see the first pic.. d'oh)

This tower is fantastic, and looks especially stunning when seen from a car traveling southbound on the DVP, and then continuing westbound on the Gardiner... an experience reminiscent of what Le Corb had in mind with the elevated roadways through Ville Radieuse.

The one you're referring to is being used to build a behemoth 6-story parking garage at the Oakville GO station, which is still a ways away from being finished... so it'll probably be staying put for a couple more weeks.

Residences of Maple Leaf Square Condos (Lanterra Developments) - Real Estate -

A friend of mine rented in the North tower for all of last year (37th floor or something?) and from what I can remember of my visits there, the noise isn't so bad but the douche-index of the whole MLS complex is off the charts... a ton of egotistical young-professional types that love throwing...

    Supertall and near-Supertall Rumour/Speculation Thread

Honestly I don't know the details. All I can say for pretty-well sure is it's the Holt's site, and the proposal will be for just over eighty storeys.

Can confirm what fedplanner says - 50 Bloor West and beastly.

Former Globe and Mail Lands Redevelopment

It's still a relatively expansive view - preferable, I'd say, to staring into another ass-ugly condo directly across the street.

Former Globe and Mail Lands Redevelopment

He means the existing G&M building, hence his implied fear of a big developer coming in and ostensibly ruining his view from 400 Wellington.

    Supertall and near-Supertall Rumour/Speculation Thread

Do these 'reports' of a 100+ storey condo have any credibility whatsoever? Just curious... I would imagine if any such plans did come to fruition, GYRA would go berserk... like, heads would explode. I don't imagine Councillor Wong-Tam would be too supportive either.

Those fins around the mechanicals look so flimsy! Once they're clad it seems like they could just snap off in a strong wind... hope they're well secured.

    Toronto Stanley Condominiums | 138.37m | 41s | Tribute | Core Architects

If this rumour is true, I'm happy to see these two buildings being redeveloped - they're both a blight on the streetscape. The stretch of Carlton between Church - Sherbourne is dreadful but it's definitely got lots of potential given the incremental redevelopment going on and the imminent Allen...

    Toronto Tableau Condominiums | 124.05m | 36s | Urban Capital | Wallman Architects

I walked by at about 11 this morning and pretty much the whole damn thing was being demolished indiscriminately ... it didn't look like anything was being saved.
