    Toronto The Rosedale on Bloor | 185.92m | 55s | Gupta | Arcadis

If it’s anything like the other Gupta projects, the bar is set very low. 😂

Just walked by here the other day. What a mess. One of the ugliest condos I’ve ever seen. This will not age well; the off-white coloured podium already looks dirty. This area needs to be brightened up, it is begging for some nice architecture.

    Toronto 159SW Condos | 118.87m | 36s | Alterra | Richmond Architects

The best thing about this building might be that Domino’s is next door. Other than that, it leaves a lot to be desired. I guess I’m a perfectionist but I’m bothered by the mismatched colouring of the brick panels on the podium and how it appears like a lego project that doesn’t fit together...

    Toronto Burke Condominiums | 163.4m | 53s | Concert | Arcadis

Is it normal that the proposal to construct the 53 story tower would still be in review this late in the game? I thought Lanterra already received permission for this before Concert took over?

How can any builder think that cheap looking brown podium with all its gaps looks acceptable? Note to self: Alterra builds junk.

This section of Sherbourne/Bloor needs a modern bright tall glass “reflective” building like this to brighten up the area a little and add diversity of architectural styles. I’m glad it’s not another drab dark blue building! It’s growing on me. Concert seems to build pretty high quality stuff...

    Toronto 159SW Condos | 118.87m | 36s | Alterra | Richmond Architects

Similar quality/reminds me of the Garrison in Fort York or that rental building at Church and Isabella, 66 Isabella. That’s not a good thing. Very cheap podium.

The site looks like a scene from Detroit currently, all boarded up like from a horror movie. They should start working on it so it doesn’t scare away potential buyers.

    Toronto 159SW Condos | 118.87m | 36s | Alterra | Richmond Architects

Yeah. It also makes you realize that the photos you see in the renderings are sometimes nothing to do with the final product. Not sure how that’s allowed? Not really fair to the consumer. Fortunately it doesn’t seem to be the case for all builders, or at least to this degree. There were some...

    Toronto The Rosedale on Bloor | 185.92m | 55s | Gupta | Arcadis

The absurd length of time that this project has taken leads me to believe that the Gupta group is not a dependable builder that I would consider in the future.

This wins the disappointing project of the year award. Looked SOOO much better in the renderings. It looks so cheap in these pictures.

    Toronto Via Bloor | 138.37m | 46s | Tridel | a—A

I love it. It seems like good quality construction. I feel bad for the residents in the south side on the lower floors though. That would be the worst view. Makes me wonder if there will be a lot of other developments and improvements to this area in the near future. Would be nice to see some...

    Toronto The Selby | 165.5m | 50s | Tricon | bKL Architecture

Not a fan of the huge blank wall/notch area. Is it notch or botched? It looks like LEGO pieces except that they didn’t fit together perfectly.

I just think it’s ridiculous to piece together a bunch of scary news reports dating back to 2013. Toronto is a huge city and there are murders everywhere especially when going back several years. And looking up the crime on one particular street seems skewed. Howard St, which currently has...

    Toronto The Selby | 165.5m | 50s | Tricon | bKL Architecture

I completely agree. I used to live at Yonge and College (for 9 years) and now live at James Cooper Mansion. I feel far safer in the Bloor and Sherbourne area, there seem to be more and more sketchy characters at Yonge/College and Yonge/Wellesley lately. I’ve been bothered many times over there...

    Toronto 561 Sherbourne | 128.01m | 43s | Medallion | Arcadis

Curious if they are ever planing to paint the other rental towers that nice light beige colour too? It looks way nicer in this new colour.

    Toronto Burke Condominiums | 163.4m | 53s | Concert | Arcadis

What about the large decrepit graffiti house on sherbourne just north of Howard? Any idea when they might begin restoring it? It needs some major help.

    Toronto The Selby | 165.5m | 50s | Tricon | bKL Architecture

Do you mean the Medallion rental proposal , north of the park? The building I'm most interested in is the Lanterra proposal at 609 Sherbourne. It is still a ways away. It will be so great when they get rid of that nasty graffiti house just south of the Korean Lutheran church on Sherbourne...

Nice article. The article mentions "revitalization of three 1970s-era rental towers". These buildings are looking pretty sad, are there any specifics about how they will revitalize them?

I agree I love the design of it based on the renderings. Hopefully it will look as good in reality.
