    Merry Christmas

Merry non-denominational late-December holiday! Or should I say happy Festivus? Either way :D:D:D

    Netbooks: Yey or Ney?

So what is the general consensus here on netbooks? I really didn't really need a netbook as I have a fairly powerful 15.4" laptop with a 12-cell power for plenty of juice, but Future Shop had the high capacity 6-cell Aspire One with the N280 processor, windows 7 and 250gb HD for $329 last...

Insurance says my car is a write-off/total loss, what are my options?

What insurance you have has no impact on your policy when you're not at-fault. Amazingly it doesn't matter what coverage the person who hit you carried either (providing they have valid Ontario insurance, it can be a little sticky if they're out of province). The laws state that when you're...

Most "Walkable" Mall in the GTA

I vote for Square One hands down. The entire mall has a nice upscale feel to it, but no two areas seem the same at all. Walking through Sherway, Eaton Centre or Yorkdale all feel the same no matter where you are in the mall. Square One has such a large, random layout with each area uniquely...

    Globalive a Go

They jump onto the Rogers/Fido network when outside of their coverage area in Canada and I think T-Mobile in the US. They're on a different band though so you can't use an unlocked Rogers/Fido phone on Wind or vice versa.

Sattelite view of Google Earth/Maps updated

Thanks for the update. The dome looks kind of funny as it's in the process of either opening or closing...

    September 11th: Real or Fraud?

He was talking about WTC7, a building that was not directly involved in the attacks. Although there's many great pictures online showing the WTC under construction, the idea that the outer walls was supporting the bulk of the weight seems to be nonsense, they had unusually large cores even for...

Insurance says my car is a write-off/total loss, what are my options?

Well you're only entitled to what a similar replacement would cost. The actual wording is very vague stating "of like kind and quality". They will almost always low-ball you though, so you were very smart to push for more. Fantastic car btw, really underrated.

    Lee's Palace Mural Torn Down

The new sign is up, looks ok IMO, the front of the building still has a lot of work needed.

Why do police have to stand at construction sites?

Pretty soon these cops will be provided rocking chairs to sit on for their paid duties...

    Unique Houses in Toronto

I don't like anything that doesn't have a comfortable place to sit... or tries to hide the TV somewhere that makes you crank your neck because some designer doesn't believe it should be the centre piece of a living space.

Beer Store needs a Lifetime Achievement Award

Overpriced... yes. Poor selection? NO. I think we have the upper hand when it comes to selection in Ontario. As there's only one player the microbrews need shelf space or they'd otherwise die. We get a great selection from one store, that's far better than running around to dozens of...

    Globalive a Go

Yes, horrible. To each their own I guess. Smart phones are so much more than just email and internet - in fact you don't even need a smart phone to do either. I'm using an LG Xenon (touch screen with full slide out keyboard) and have unlimited WAP browsing which is surprisingly good as the...

The Big Bop shuts down (hideous purple building on Queen/Bathurst)

With the impeding disappearance of of the Big Bop and the raping of Lee's Toronto certainly won't feel the same. I guess we should be really lucky that the El Mocambo survived it's near death experience back in 2001 (when I actually frequented these types of places). That place seems to be...

    Globalive a Go

Just as nobody forces you to use proper punctuation in any of your posts. The only wireless provider that truly had a customer-first approach was Fido, and as soon as City Fido was looming, Rogers snapped it up and quickly turned the company into a Rogers clone. The Canadian market is...

    Landlord/Tenant question...

While I agree with you in principle. Someone who gets into the business of being a landlord should know and be prepared for this in the first place. It's the nature of that particular business. There's no sense complaining about it when it happens to you when you knew the risks going into it...

    Landlord/Tenant question...

L.O.L. I will refrain from making any personal attacks, but based on your prior posts I think it's best left to ignore any of the drivel you post from this point onwards. Contact my prior landlords and you'll hear glowing recommendations (I know as I've been in the room when they were called...

    Landlord/Tenant question...

Ok but before I can do that you'll have to bend over first. I would rather it be you seeing how I would never enjoy such an act. I do kind of agree with and I was trying to provide an extreme example. However when it comes to matters such as basic human rights (I think tenant rights fall...
