    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Why north when the existing bridge already has space for two tracks on the south?

900 years for testing? I guess if you really, really, really want to iron out all the glitches....

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

LRT sharing the road with cars would be a bad idea if it were for a longer stretch, but this is a tiny portion of Hurontario, and the LRT has, what, 2 stops in this area? LRTs do not destroy "character" of an area, if anything, they increase it if they are well maintained. This stretch is...

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

That last pic is where the pedestrian overpass is going to be, I'm quite sure. I feel this is a terrible option. Overpasses like that are always unfriendly, with those back-and-forth ramps that make you feel like you're not getting anywhere. I rather they had gone with the underpass under the...

My whole family hates them. They look "crazy", "ugly", "like they were built by a drunk" and "can't look at them without getting nausea".

You said "I've never seen a take before that any of Toronto's 3 subway lines aren't rapid transit." but ARG1 never said that. It's clear that you misread Arg1's "Now imagine if like Yonge Street it had actual rapid transit, and not something that is barely faster than the bus outside of rush...

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Elevated down the middle of the street is ugly and definitely has a psychological impact on people and hence on business viability and pedestrian movement. Elevated also presents a barrier to access the transit, necessitating stairs or an elevator for stations. Ground-level encourages use by...

Considering the size and position of other things, those "people" in the back in the last picture must be one foot tall.

Lived in Brampton as a kid and everyone knew Main Street, Highway 10, and Hurontario were the same street. It's like asking how people even still know it was called the SkyDome at one point. People know because that's what everyone calls it.

Are we sure that's fog? It looks... dirtier.

They're already pouring dirt onto the box? It doesn't look to be fully in place yet, unless they're planning to build that little remaining part of the overpass later. ETA: Nope, they're still moving the box with the people, equipment, and dirt on top of it. Wild.

Thanks, just east of the creek! Direct links to the cameras below. I figured I'd provide these since the site itself is a little clunky to use. These come up as static images. You have to manually refresh the browser for updates, and the updates only happen every few minutes. The QEW at...

So the pedestrian tunnel seen in the video at 8:25 is not going to be accessible during the pushbox push next weekend?

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

If looks are irrelevant, why don't we all just live in commie blocks? It's inconsistent to say that looks matter in building architecture but not in transit vehicles. They're publicly visible features of the city.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I recently has the chance to ride both the ION LRT in K-W and the Züm bus in Brampton. It was day and night. The Züm articulated bus was pretty quick, especially in the late evening when it really... zoomed... but it was loud as heck, both from engine noise and from what sounded like hundreds...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Sorry for a bit OT but where does one find a reference, like a map, for all these "subs"? I see them mentioned frequently as if people are just supposed to know which ones are which. It would be nice to be able to check what the conversation is about.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

There's an interesting picture of the future LRT extending into Brampton in this video at 30:25. It also shows the GO station expansion which suggests the south platform of Brampton GO Station built in the late 2000s will not be removed, but converted into a centre platform and the new third...

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I don't understand. Mississauga has to start somewhere. I'd love to see more rail lines in the future. Putting this convenient train at eye level will do more to encourage ridership and desire for more lines than would some kind of elevated monstrosity eyesore expensive gaffe.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

You don't need grade separation to go at a good speed. I know because I lived in a city that had good tram service. Separated ROW, prioritized signals, and reasonable stop spacing (which I think this LRT has) equals convenient, comfortable and fast travel. Faster than a car? Probably not. But...
