GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Today, I saw some track work on the Richmond Hill line south of Dundas St at Bayview Avenue. As previously discussed regarding the Don Valley Go facility this might be connected to it. The second tracks seems to be reinstated. Also the first track is getting new ballast. Does someone know more...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Siemens just released their new G1 subway trains into revenue service in Nuremberg, Germany. Siemens has already a big footprint in the rail market in North America. So it can be assumed that for the RFQ process for new TTC subway trains they will bid with their new G1 type trains. I like the...

Isn’t this slow order west of Guelph railway station already worked on by improving tracks and closing crossings or even is it mitigated by now?

Took the 15:15h train from Niagara Falls to Toronto. I tried to shoot some photos at the Hamilton Junction. Seems like CN is still working on the signaling systems. There piles of material I can’t identify. Someone else might have knowledge what they are doing?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

There seems to be a major design flaw in the new cycle tracks along Bloor St. E. A lot of complaints are posted recently. Will Layton action on this? What is his actual auth to get design changes?

That’s not entirely true. I went to Christinas on the Danforth yesterday evening for dinner which is inside the Greektown BIA. The owner are supporting it. They said Danforth is less noisy and more pleasant for customers to sit outside.

The dark blue Hyundai is owned by a lady working at the courthouse or attending a trial. She said that she knows that she is parking in the wrong lane. However, the “parking lanes” feels unsafe for her. Everyone seems to get it, but looks poor entitlement to me.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Biked by Stouffville line close to Tara Avenue. Great so see all two tracks are built. Some interesting activity I’ve observed was that some kind of drilling work is done. Does anyone know what it is for?

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

So basically back to start to build LRT as initially intended. Funny! Guess someone smells that there will be substantial Federal money coming in and i would be waste to let that go.
