    St Lawrence Market

Makes sense to keep the closure. Every other city would use that lane for a Christmas market for example!

I just filled out the survey. During covid times I actually started to cook much more. Therefore, I’m going to the market more often. But is closing too soon. Also, put into the last comment box to close Market Lane for cars. Long overdue to make it pedestrian space only!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Why we don’t see Yonge St. from Midtown all the way down to downtown as a pedestrian and cycling mall? Maybe too much revolutionary.

South of the flat iron building construction is ongoing. Wondering what structure they are building there right now?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Response from GO transit by personnel Twitter message regarding their modest increase in service.

Yes, that is correct. No new park in place of the tent. Will be library instead. Construction start in 2024 if I saw correctly.

This is taking forever. Really looking forward to the trail to be completed this year!

    LCBO / The Beer Store

Whatever the law might be, I’m observing wineries don’t really care and don’t obey it. I ordered several times from wineries outside of Ontario. Shipment was received within a couple of days. My favourite is Tidal Bay from Nova Scotia. https://grandprewines.com/collections/our-wines I asked at...

Great to follow this discussion. I’m going to the market almost daily and have most prices memorised compared to grocery stores. Overall the closure of steak restaurants led to awesome offers at the market. 50% discount is not unheard of. Also if it comes to fish. A nice big trout over 1.5kg for...

The Future of City-Owned Golf Courses in Toronto

Councillor Brad Bradford is somehow convinced that the Dentonia golf course needs to be maintained as is with 18 holes and not reduced to have a continuous trail build. Does anyone know who John F Campbell is and what roles he plays in this? https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-f-campbell-mba

    The Meadoway, 200ha

Some photos of the current status of section 5 phase I work. Wonder when work is resuming. With all the equipment such as a truck still on site I’m guessing the pause is not that long.

The wider public and newcomers to the city might not well informed enough where to find such surveys. Also, not everyone has time availability to express their opinion to the BIA or the Market. Most don’t know who the important guys are. @DSC is certainly playing a key role. :) The word on the...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I’m not clear on the timeline of increasing service. When do we see finally weekend service to Brampton and also Kitchener?

    East Don Trail Project

Phase 1 is still under construction. Better to say no progress being done this year. Metrolinx has still to procure the tunnel word under the rail. Very sad, that it is taking that long. I doubt Phase 3 is even really considered being built.

    St Lawrence Market

Years ago survey results showed that around 75% of customers going to the SLM are arriving by walking, transit or biking. This number is certainly higher now. It lacks ambition to assign Market St to pedestrians only. Parts of Wellington St, Front St and the Esplanade need to have sections for...

    St Lawrence Market

The Market St. next to the SLM was open to pedestrians only for the last weekends. The Old Town BIA is in charge and calls it I Heart Market Street: http://oldtowntoronto.ca/marketstreet/ The person leading it is Stephen Maciejowski – Director of Operations & Special Projects...

    St Lawrence Market

@DSC - I filled the survey if it makes any difference. I spotted the following as a question: “The I Heart Market Street pilot is currently planned for two consecutive weekends at the end of August. Do you support continuing these closures each weekend until Thanksgiving?” So to completely...

    St Lawrence Market

Market St. is definitely not suitable for buses. Time to exclude all vehicular traffic.
