Market Wharf Condos (Context Development) - Real Estate -

Urban Vigor - I asked if I could get wood in the kitchen and foyer and they said no. I had wood everywhere at Mozo and had no problem. They did mention that the quality of the engineered hardwood at M Wharf was not as good as the maple upgrade I got at Mozo. We got the Market Flat type A (see...

Neighbour Playing Drums -- very noisy in the building's private courtyard

Why don't you politely ask your neighbour to stop. If he doesn't stop then speak to the ppty manager.

Market Wharf Condos (Context Development) - Real Estate -

I decided to go with all tile. The hardwood option didn't cover the whole main area. With my layout even with hardwood, there would have been tile in the entrance and tile in the kitchen. the kitchen is a linear kitchen so there would have been a strange transition between the tile and the wood...

    G-20 Summit in Toronto

If we're going to be part of the G20 then it is our responsibility to host the thing every now and then despite the costs and hassle. Also, like other world events, this will help put us on the map internationally. I live and work downtown so this will be a major headache.

They can't charge you a restocking fee for a defective product. If the next one is defective insist on your money back.

Critique this Berczy Two Bedroom Floor Plan - Go at it!

I wouldn't go with an island. Your place is nice and open. I'm concerned that if you install an island you will not be able to fit a dining table. You will want this if your ever entertain (even if its for a poker night). If you can hide many of your appliances behind panels that match your...

    Investment Property, wait or buy?

You don't factor lost opportunity cost or expected vacancy rate into the calculation of profit for accounting purposes. Profit for accounting purposes is the difference between revenue minus costs of goods sold and operating expenses. You're not going to ultimately know this until you sell the...

What to do with the Holy Land?

It would be nice if the problems there could be solved once and for all. As others have pointed out, these problems have existed in one way or another since the beginning of history. Somehow I doubt Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama can solve them.

    Pay Toilets

I also read today that the plan is to have 20 of these deployed over the next 20 yrs! Why will this take so long?!

Thinking of a 2 Bedroom Downtown Condo

I recently bought a new 680 sq ft 1 bdrm condo from plan for 300 plus 30k for parking. You're not going to get much of a 2 bdrm downtown for 325 with parking. I suggest you contact a mortgage broker. Your downpayment is great so that will help.

    Berczy d9

pretty good layout IMO - cons: generally don't like having to squeeze through the kitchen to get to the living room. living room is also pretty narrow. I wouldn't worry about the balcony. Huge den - more like a third bedroom. The location of this building is fantastic.

Berczy Condos, The (Concert Properties) - Real Estate -

Of course everyone gets the same contract but it is drafted by the developer so it is in their favour. You want to cap closing costs (levies etc) and if you have to buy your heat pump make sure that is included or capped as well (especially if you have more than one). Also a good idea to make...

    1 or 1+1 downtown with parking ~300k?

I suspect you won't see much of a drop in the lower dollar ranges though you may be able to get some options thrown in (like blinds, locker etc).

    1 or 1+1 downtown with parking ~300k?

Try Market Wharf by Context in St. Lawrence Market. Occupancy is scheduled to start next summer with units in the tower the next year. I bought a 680 sq ft for 300k plus $30k parking in the podium part of the bldg.

    Investment Property, wait or buy?

Everyone seems to have a different view of where the "market" will be in a few years and even less certainty over a longer period. You always need to keep in mind that you should not have all your eggs in one basket. I would hope that you already have about $100k + in other investments before...

    G-20 Summit in Toronto

I don't mind the "peace freaks" who want to peacefully protest. I might not agree with most of what they think but I strongly believe that the right to do this is essential to democracy. However, I do mind the anarchist types who goal is to cause destruction.

Gap between the Rich and Poor

A 100% tax on income over a certain amount is the dumbest thing ever. No one would have any incentive of making any more than the maximum. Wouldn't it be better to tax this extra income at say approx 50% (or whatever the highest marginal rate is) than the govt receive no tax. The extra tax...

How to determine if wall mount is feasible or not? (condo)

The studs are likely metal and will not support your TV. You would have to open up the drywall and install wood studs and cross beam. IKEA has a solution consisting of two metal columns about 5 cm in diameter with a white piece of particle board that spans between the columns. The columns run...

what to do with Broken Chattel, after closing on condo

An oven may have a warranty provided by the manufacturer. You should have your agent ask the sellers if they have the warranty documentation (if you don't have it) after you ask them to fix it as suggested.
