    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Those houses btw are going to be sold off and redeveloped into condos. All they did was make these properties worth more

If we have learned anything about transit planning, density is where they focus and the rest get scraps.

Both port credit and streetsville are doing their best all these years later to stay “towns”

We can keep talking about port credit but the fact is port credit is doing everything it can not to densify while MCC is doing everything it can to densify. People matter. The more people the more restaurants, grocery stores and night life. 15 years ago i lived downtown Toronto and to go grocery...

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

There’s a central library, living arts centre, celebration square, AGM. A movie theatre, a park with public art, and kariya park. Confederation has become quite pedestrian friendly and the restaurants seemingly are doing well. It’s not nothing. I lived downtown Calgary 25 years ago and that...

    Mississauga 170 Lakeshore Road East | 56.6m | 17s | Lightpoint | Arcadis

No idea why this is even a debate. How is it Erin mills mall can build 30 floor buildings right beside SFH and there be no issue yet here on a major street walking distance to a LRT and a GO there is an issue. Or how is it possible that all those SFH on confederation are being dwarfed by...

Definitely looks like the tunnel is warranted. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Forced transfers are a feature at Scarborough town centre as well and they got a subway extension. Maybe there’s a method to the madness.

This seems to me to be something far easier to fix than torontos transit signal priority which should be an easy fix. Just add some more LRVs. If money is really that big of an issue than neither the loop or the tunnel should have been built. Somehow they always can find money when they want to.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This should be an easy fix. I’d rather have the loop and fix the problem then not have the loop. The real problem is that MCC is basically all west of hurontario. Confederation is not exactly close to hurontario. Is it walkable? Sure. But it’s a bit of a hike. And there’s buildings planned all...

Get rid of the loop then and put a BRT down burnamthorpe.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I’d argue that the loop helps make square one a destination rather than worry about getting people to Toronto all the time. I also thought we were trying to get the Milton GO to branch to Sq1 in which case this whole argument is moot.

That plan is years away from happening. That’s great it will increase density. It will never rival square one.The Brampton underground portion costs significantly more than the loop. Finally it’s how they choose to operate the loop which will be the deciding factor if it takes longer.

    GO Transit Midtown Corridor

Haven’t watched it and love the title. Scarborough we deserve a subway and got it. Brampton we deserve a subway and got it. Eglinton west we deserve a subway and got it. And now we have the Milton line with we deserve all day transit so…. This is how we are deciding what gets built. Who ever...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Correct. Trashing Miller on being a LRT fanboy. The garbage strike was insane especially when in the end he was going to cave to them for the pan am games but Scarborough won ford the election based on cancelling the sheppard lrt and rt to lrt conversion for the all glorious and expensive subway.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

If LRT was ever “cool and fashionable” Rob Ford would never have become mayor. He won on mocking LRTs and comparing them to streetcars which were an attack on the poor people in the suburbs. Once again finch is averaging 650m spacing where as typical streetcar routes are less than 250m.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

What you’re really saying is championship level teams make the stadium feels better than any Reno and I would agree. I’d much rather the money being put into getting the jays over the top. I guess championships can’t be guaranteed with money but Reno’s can be.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Yes because the 70 floor buildings at confederation and burnamthorpe don’t remotely justify proper transit but no development downtown Brampton deserves the Cadillac of transit. It’s exactly the same thing right down to the price tag.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Elevate the Brampton portion first and then talk to me. I don’t understand why Mississauga shouldn’t be throwing it’s own hissy fit.
