I know what you mean, but then also find that the feel of the old photographs add so much as well... Of course it would be fascinating to see the colour of some of the buildings, when they were new, or even the green trees. What I'd really love is accurate 3D models of some of the buildings...

Ah, thanks adma, I found a couple more photos that make that much clearer - one in 1930 looking east from Bay St. where it looks like they're just finishing the building here) and a similar view, 21 years later in 1951.
