The thing is, if Greyhound pulls out of the Kitchener market (along with any other market currently served by GO in Ontario), GO wouldn't have the equipment necessary to immediately handle the passenger volumes. Hopefully, deregulation gets some political attention, and this antiqued provision...

I've heard rumors (online) that if GO were to introduce Kitchener-Union service, Greyhound threatened to pull out of the Kitchener-Toronto market altogether. I'm not sure how the dynamic would play out between a publicly-subsidized operator (GO) competing head on with Greyhound/Coach Canada/other.

That's an assumption. I'm not arguing with you about the press release being vague, inaccurate and deceiving, I'm just saying that no one knows for sure whether these new trips to Kitchener are extensions of existing trips or brand new trips.

Dude, relax. Brampton will get AD2W service looong before KW gets it. 2WAD will extend to Mt. Pleasant. KW will just get more peak trains starting in 2016, which benefits Brampton too.
