Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Do you mean building this line above ground partially, or building another line after this one is done as a supplement?

    El Mocambo Signage Rebuild/Restoration

Seems more like a labour of love than a sound business move. I'm glad it was done and this place still exists.

Do you mean after it's been tunneled?

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Barring a major turnaround/progress I don't think he has another win in him. After 8 years in power people will want change.

There is nothing to suggest this is the case at all. The government has chosen the most expensive options for the EWLRT and SSE. They could easily afford to bury the line instead of utilizing GO capcity. They could easily afford to build this thing all the way up to Don Mills. That they're not...

The same way the Downtown Relief Line was planned - by taking local considerations into account. Planners have been doing this for ages. It doesn't make any sense to suggest Metrolinx couldn't do the same. They are voicing their concerns after being told what will be done. It's not community...

This is where the argument against burying it falls apart. The cost is relatively low compared to other projects (I believe it's at least $2 billion just to bury the EWLRT) and one could argue the benefit of keeping the GO corridor available for GO expansion has it's own significant value.

    1) No one is asking Metrolinx to do this. 2) & 3) None of this seemed to matter when they discarded the previous plan to build a new one (the OL). If Metrolinx had designed this plan in cooperation with local communities instead imposing their will on them, we'd probably see much less...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Agreed. Given the development they're planning it'll be a great fit for the area. And at 6.5km you're never more than 3.5km away from a subway (once the OL is done).

People caring about their community isn't whining. If you lived in one of these communities you might be singing a different tune. A lot of them are researching and fact checking. The problem is that Metrolinx can't answer their questions nor are they honest with them. I'm fascinated how...

    Toronto's Improving Public Realm

These all seem to cover improvements to specific areas - is there a plan to address how public works addresses repairs, maintenance, etc.?

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I've been very impressed with Freeland. She's probably the front-runner if they had a leadership convention.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Agreed, I don't understand how this can be considered any kind of excuse. If it's something that affects him this greatly every year, perhaps he should've picked a different date for Truth & Reconciliation Day. Of course, we all know that's not why he went on vacation. If it was, he and his...

If Boston could figure out how to integrate a subway stop into the Old State House, I'd like to think we could figure something out for these buildings.

Is the plan really to demolish them though? The presentation seems to make it clear they'll be retained. Or is the issue that they won't be fully preserved as-is?

I think this group is focused on a particular issue though. In that context the name makes sense.

That's very possible. Personally I think Freeland could beat O'Toole, especially if they implement affordable daycare and pharmacare (as @Towered suggested). I don't think a former PM has to worry about finding gigs, especially one that's fairly well regarded abroad.

Just when I thought this project had reached the apex of beauty and sophistication the Score steps in to take it all to another level. Thank you Menkes!

I'd have to agree. He's probably out before the next election. People do have short memories though, so if things improve a lot over the next few years I can see him wanting to try for a 4th win. That said, all leaders have a best before date and I think Trudeau is at or nearing his.
