    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I just walked past King and Jarvis over my lunch. There was a streetcar heading EB just east of Jarvis. The operator was waiting for instructions.

At King and River there is no signage indicating that the stop is out of use. Currently, people are waiting there expecting streetcars to stop not knowing they are diverting.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I'm sorry but real estate speculation is not a viable retirement plan.

Back in the day CityPlace was.. interesting? I have *alot* of stories from my time there that are not fit for public consumption. Some you wouldn't believe, others that make hooker harveys look good.

I did security there from 2014 to 2016! Lovely building except for the dead body, shooting, massive flood and balcony fire. Not all at the same time but someone OD'd in Unit 801 there. I distinctly recall one of my colleagues calling me at 3 am to tell me he was looking out of the window...

    Toronto Eaton Centre

Because if you did you would have realised it wouldn't fit in the Pickle Barrel space. Eataly is made up of a number of different functional spaces like butchers, bakers, etc that wouldn't easily work in the Pickle Barrel space. As I said, I've worked there before. I knew the space well. I...

    Toronto Eaton Centre

I used to work there in 2006/2007. The crunch in the food wasn't a crouton if you catch my drift.

A seizure if we are lucky.

They did something similar at Castle Frank and Woodbine.

    LCBO / The Beer Store

They do that in Europe as well. You put the bottles into a machine which then gives you a slip to redeem at the cashier. I think the food safety concerns may be from reusing bottles. They are grasping at straws and calling it unsanitary.

When I was visiting Hungary last year, all the major malls had grocery stores which were well used!

Fair but with locations so close together one is bound to suffer. Hand over fist with one location. With two it may change the metrics.

Seriously? That's two in less than 2 kilometres. I wonder if they will be closing the manulife centre location.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

I think it may be that after 2.5 years progress is in question At first, Ukraine was given the tools to defend itself in the hopes it would succeed. Now, Ukraine is on the defensive and the west doesn't want to get involved in another Vietnam type of situation. Mind you.. US or NATO troops in...

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

That's bizarre given the proximity to the lake! You would think the tourists would go there.

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

Anecdotally, I can say I have seen encampments in High Park. There is a growing homeless population in the area which in the summer congregates in the park. Normally, they are in the far corners like at Clendenan and Bloor St or alongside Ellis Park Road. Being away from the Downtown area is...

    Toronto events and festivals

This is one of things that occurred during the Summer Beer Fest at Roundhouse Park. During that particular event, the attendees would destroy the grass causing the organizers to replace it. This may be one of the reasons it was moved to the winter actually (less damage to the grass).

    Toronto events and festivals

That would make sense but at its core, the Taste of the Danforth is a street festival. It's like saying you want to move the Beaches Jazz Festival solely to Ashbridges Bay and Kew Gardens without having any road closures. You could do it but it would not be the same.

Oh I know what they mean. I didn't grow up in Forest Hill.

    LCBO / The Beer Store

The question remains how many stores will actually do this and how many will properly manage it. I highly doubt Gas Station attendants or sketchy convenience store attendants will give a s*** about who buys this stuff.
