A fortress hub is often a successful airline strategy. What seemed foolish to me was having no clear growth strategy other than one which depended on getting multiple levels of government to agree on a physical expansion to an airport in a dense urban core.

Well, on the flip side Tewder's comment did spur some more substantial discussion. Sorry, but you don't understand how property taxes work. Changes to land values have no effect on total taxes collected. You need to look into mill rates and how they're calculated.

That pic was from when they were rebuilding the station (by moving the tracks underground through the city) and building the new underground bike station. Those racks are now gone. Here's a video: Though, many stations with indoor or underground bike parking still have lots of racks outdoors...
