    Roads: Fantasy Proposals

Can we fantasize about removing roads? I'd erase Lake Shore from the Humber to the Don. Or at least reduce the number of lanes and speed limit.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

They will likely be the same as the ones on Harbord, someone posted a photo of them earlier I think. They have metal panels on the sides facing the street.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

One way travel works on Richmond/Adelaide because they're only a block apart and have very little retail fronting on them. Bloor is too far from other E/W arteries. I believe there is some criticism of bi-directional cycle lanes as well but I'm not familiar with the details.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

That's true, Bloor has an abundance of parking due to the cut & cover construction of the subway which left plenty of open lots behind the North side buildings. As I said before, I think they were too generous with the on-street parking in this pilot. It's not necessary in most sections. In...

PATH Network Expansion (various, various, various)

Would look a lot better if the lighting wasn't so dim.

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

I think you can see a plexi sound barrier behind that though? Between the railpath and the tracks.

    Toronto Wallace Walk Towns | ?m | 4s | The Somerset Group | KFA

I can't see how this addition is going to look any good, even with a fresh coat of paint it won't match the existing trusses at all.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

To be honest I think the spit (and ravines) is one thing we have that New York doesn't. In fact I can't think of many major cities that have such large naturalized areas so close to downtown. Something to be proud of, maybe?

    Toronto Four Eleven King Condominiums | 149.04m | 45s | Great Gulf | KPMB

I'm not sure about the bit hanging over the existing building as it's a little messy, but the section of the podium on the corner is quite interesting. Haven't seen one like it anywhere else.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Yes, it's a parking bay. There are quite a few of them, usually at least one per block I think. Very little chance of getting doored with these which is great.

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

The old turnstiles are at the perfect height to hit my crotch if I didn't push them open with my hand, so the new gates are a big improvement in my life. :P

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

Probably, but again this info doesn't seem readily available from the TTC. If someone posts it here I could do so. I've updated the list with the other info provided.

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

No problem, I marked those stations that have readers with an asterisk. I used this map for info, not sure how up to date it is: https://www.ttc.ca/PDF/Maps/Presto_ Station_Map.pdf

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

There doesn't appear to be a thread specifically for the new fare gate installations and since there are quite a few stations having them installed now I thought it would be helpful to have it all laid out in one place. From...

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Well how about that! Didn't even know this, looks like there's the makings of a park network in the area already.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

I'm curious about the vacant lot south of Wellington that borders on the tracks across from Stanley Park, is it slated for development? This is pure fantasy on my part, but expropriating at least a part of it and connecting it to this rail yard park, Garrison Common, Under Gardiner, West...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Image seems to be dead for me, on the site as well, anyone else see it?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I think they were a little too generous with the parking. For example, between Walmer and Spadina this reduces Westbound traffic to one lane. There are 2 green P lots and the lot behind Metro here, a bumpout for street parking wasn't necessary.

    Toronto Garden District Condos | 99.97m | 32s | Hyde Park | a—A

79 is a nice building and would probably fit into the development easily. The other two don't look very remarkable but that's just my opinion.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I would think that in the winter, more than any other time, bollards would be crucial to indicate where the lane actually is. Flex posts usually have a base that's bolted to the surface as well which would probably cause difficulties with plowing, my assumption is they will just use the small...
