Unsafe in what way? I take long walks at night - including through this part of town. Nothing stands out in terms of safety.

    Toronto 88 Bathurst | 68.3m | 17s | Hines | 3XN

Colours and materials aside, in my view this building still reads like a heavy and imposing slab. The Minto building across the street is much more successful in that regard (excluding the abysmal street level environment along Bathurst). It remains to be seen what exactly will go above the...

I live in this neighbourhood and have seen proposals come and go for this site. I am anything but disappointed. Perfect? No. But to call it a "waste" is just absurd.

A few more images of the panels. The darker bricks are actually a rust-like tone.

    Mississauga Lakeview Village | ?m | ?s | Argo Developments | Sasaki

Unfortunately, none of the other political parties appear to have any sensible or stable policies to deal with housing. Now that it has been defined as a "crisis," we will likely see more poorly-considered strategies being trotted out from across the political spectrum likely delivering their...

Great images. I'm looking forward to seeing this when it opens. It's been in the works on one way or another for over a decade.

I think people can raise negative criticisms here - even personal and subjective views - without being expected to construct a building of their own. I also think that abovegrade has tried to clarify his remarks in the matter. At least that's my opinion on the situation.

A bit difficult to see in the daylight but some of the exterior lighting was illuminated.

    VIA Rail

Many years ago, when I was commuting to Ottawa, a city councillor there called VIA the best third-world train system around. With incidents such as this, that kind of remark can be questioned.

I agree. The brick to silver spandrel is jarring.

Poor little kitty sculpture. I'm sure a local dog has already peed on it. That fate is inevitable. The city's recycling and garbage disposal bins always manage to bring a sense of shoddiness to wherever they're located. Mass-produced quality is likely as easy and cost-effective to produce as...

^Exactly. There is nothing out of line with the pricing given the location. And yes, the present housing problem is not going to be solved with one solution.

I recall shopping at that Sobeys just after midnight, one day before it suspended it's 24-hour operation due to covid.

I guess "coming soon" is a relative term. This project has been kicking around since 2012.
