Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

Humber Bay shores wasn't a thing back then. Now there's huge pressure to do it. Eastern waterfront wasn't a thing either. Also if Ford scraps the MLTT, Toronto is going to become legit screwed and won't be able to fund anything

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

not extremely low. Toronto may just fund the project themselves, the infrastructure bank may take on the project or the federal government might without provincial money it does slow things down but it's a priority project

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

i think the subway upload is more of a ploy to make the city themselves lean more towards subways as opposed to LRT as it would probably bring subways more in line with LRT operating costs

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

you won't need loops for LRT because they go both ways, no? unless they're just going to be using the current streetcar trains

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

Basically the only thing that could maybe save the waterfront lrt if PCs get in power is the federal liberals, or the infrastructure bank.

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

Well, yes and no. Notice the words $9 billion available. That makes it sound like the money for the line will be diverted elsewhere.

But it will take me to the Ferris wheel at the ex! Doesn't that count for something?!

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

Except the waterfront LRT is nowhere to be seen :-(

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

The one thing that is really good about the NDP platform is out of all of the parties, we are most likely to reach balanced budget after their term than with the other two. The reasoning is, a lot of their stuff is driven towards increasing revenue. Short and long term. I think I'm going to hop...

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

Can they, though? It's all been budgeted under this year so going forward, these projects will be taking money already spent in the eyes of the government, no? Like... Unlike the Crosstown, it appears the waterfront LRT is going to be a municipal project, not a provincial project as originally...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

most of the lines pre-work is done. Just need to fix some things and they're ready to go. I really hope they finalize a plan shortly and start the work soon.

Which is the current one? Because I'd prefer to have offices.

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

Also at least the current Libs have been doing something with transit, which is more than we have been getting from well... decades worth of leadership from all the parties prior. We are impatient, but holy smokes I don't want to go back to the consistent inaction and political transit...

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

IIRC the hydro rates are pretty much rest of ontario. Toronto has a different power provider than the rest of the province.

It's basically the same in most of south etobicoke. To go downtown, you have to go in the wrong direction... and your most direct route is slow as hell. Literally backwards planning. In the TTC's mind... who would use the 66 if they are going downtown from HBS? Going to take as long as the 501...

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

Realistically both stations should exist. But you could easily have a bus route that feeds into HBS. My personal preference is odd, but I think it might be worth it in the long run to move mimico to park lawn and open up a Kipling one. (More of a long term thing, and opens up more access to...

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

Hopefully everything is taller. That would mean lots of offices, rentals and condos which means... Vibrant retail and eateries and most importantly proper transit. If it ends up being a plaza wasteland I will be very disappointed. Leave that junk for suburbia and let's focus on making a mini...

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

Nah, Metrolinx. It's not redundant. It's that the Mimico station is serving primarily 2 storey houses and 2 apartment buildings. Already more people live in the vicinity of the where the Park Lawn station should be than the rest of Mimico and Christie site has potential to make that upwards...

We already know Oxford is redoing their stuff as they renamed the project Union Park. They just haven't made a peep since the change.
