Toronto St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

Don't get me wrong here. I don't love or hate this tower (thus far) more than any other one going up around downtown. But you people are dumping on it way too much. Whoever said that they'd settle for a copy of Trump Chicago at Bay & Adelaide has to take a look at just how small the lot Trump...

    Toronto Pinnacle Centre Condos | 161.84m | 55s | Pinnacle | P + S / IBI

I see what you're saying. It's only a barrier if you let it be and all that and I also applaud the development filling in the surface parking lots of the past. I still would love to see it go though. An elevated concrete and steel highway just seems so 1960s now. It's sure to increase the value...

Ha. I love that. Hopefully this cultural corridor won't include whatever culture Hooters and Jack Astor's represent.

    Toronto West Village Etobicoke | ?m | 31s | Tridel | Rafael + Bigauskas

While I totally support intensification in an already semi-dense neighbourhood, I really have to wonder about the prices of some of the units in this development. Just browsing the website, unit 2C in the "west village collection" is a 2 bed, 815 sq ft starting @ $356k. Works out to $437/sq ft...

Toronto has the worst average commute in the world

I really disagree with anyone that proposes adding more lanes to existing highways and streets or adding entirely new highways to the city. Rule #1 as far, as I'm concerned, when it comes to infrastructure planning, more and more lanes are simply not the answer. More streets and more lanes...

What? Which meeting was this? Are there any more to come? Also, if Quadrangle is on the project now and Teeple is out, does that mean that the original Giraffe tower is totally dead? Looks like I may be getting my money back sooner than I thought.

UPDATE: For those still interested in this debacle... Spoke with someone at TAS today. I highly doubt this person was any sort of expert on the situation, but I was told that the next major update on Giraffe's situation will be made known in late April. They are in discussions with the city at...

Oh alright, sorry, I missed your point. Is the Seagram podium as old as the rest of the tower? The tv show Vertical City visited the Seagram tower recently (this season or last) and they didn't even mention the podium. It's obviously not less than 2 years old, but they tend to focus on the the...

^^^ are you sure that's one of the buildings in the TD Centre? Looks more like the Seagram Building in Manhattan to me. Though one is modelled after the other. If you posted this photo on purpose then please disregard this comment.

Got a letter from TAS the other day, it basically states what we all know. "The OMB issued a negative decision regarding Giraffe last week. At this time we are in discussions with the city and reviewing how we may proceed with various options. We would like to assure you that we are dealing...

Ya, I dunno. I know it's in the core and all, but I find it a bit too rich for my blood. Is the tower cheaper?

So my condo got cancelled... what now?

I really have no idea if Tas is still involved with M5V. Signage on the project site says both lifetime and Tas, while the website still says Tas as well, so who knows? I do appreciate everyone's suggestions. I'm really not considering North York though. My sort of rough preferred area would be...

    Toronto Art Condos | ?m | 11s | Triangle West | Oleson Worland

To each their own but I think Hariri Pontarini is a great architecture firm. I like the majority of their projects. I agree with you that the Smart + smart sized parking spot can make the unit difficult to sell down the road, but it is interesting none the less. With so many condos on the...

    Toronto Art Condos | ?m | 11s | Triangle West | Oleson Worland

Really, really like this development. I'm seriously considering buying one here if they don't sell out first. Great location as well. The $30k for parking, or for a smaller spot and a Smart Fortwo sounds pretty good too. It's a shame they're tearing down the building the sales centre is housed...

775 King West Condos (Minto) - Real Estate -

The building seems to be selling quite well actually. I was in there the other day and they already have both phases released and for sale, which wasn't the original plan as far as I know. Some units are quite pricey, but I think that is to be expected given the location and the builder...

    Toronto Sync Lofts Condos | ?m | 8s | Streetcar | TACT Architecture

While the building itself is good looking, I find it a bit unnerving that Streetcar seems to essentially sell the exact same building in 3 separate locations (2 gladstone, sync and corktown). Model buildings of all the 3 were in the sales office and I could barely tell the difference between the...

Liberty Place Lofts and Condos at Liberty Village (CanAlfa) - Real Estate -

Went to the sales centre on Saturday, not a bad looking development. Prices are pretty good. 870 sq ft 2 bed for $375,900 & parking is only $27,500. They were having a "1% off purchase price + stainless steel appliances" sale as well. Occupancy is June 2014 so a huge thumbs down to that.

    Thoughts on this 2Bed+Den? (Discovery)

I think that's a very good layout. The bedrooms are great sizes, and the den in no way resembles a glorified closet or nook in between the front door and the kitchen like it does in so many other projects. I personally would appreciate a bit longer longer living/dining area.
