    Toronto 1540 Bloor West | 91.9m | 27s | Trinity Group | IBI Group

I like how it respects the hideousness and randomness of the building across the street.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Even with 6,000 more residents, Main and Danforth will never be a big trip generator for GO, but sure, if York builds the Markham campus, then maybe there would be enough "reverse" travel to justify the stop in the future. Do you have any data for this? I can't imagine more than a handful of...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I wish GO would just abandon stopping the Stouffville Line at Danforth (and the odd train that stops at Scarborough GO) altogether. The handful of people who use this connection can just take Lakeshore East trains or use the connection at Kennedy.

    Toronto The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

I assume that Oxford will move and expand its incubator, OneEleven, from 325 Front (to be torn down for Union Park) to the Hub. It's currently 100,000 square feet, so even if it doubles in size it won't be the lead tenant obviously, but it would absorb some of the space. I could see a company...

    Toronto 1071 King West | 62.2m | 17s | Hullmark | BDP Quadrangle

This is actually one of the few developments I like in the area. It's mostly cheap spandrel condos and shoddy townhomes nearby.

    Vaughan 3300 Highway 7 | 183.18m | 58s | Ripple | BDP Quadrangle

Quandrangle is also doing nice work near the other end of Highway 7 in Downtown Markham.

Should cities start blocking urban sprawl?

Even allowing lot splitting on all 50+ foot lots would do wonders. It's crazy that rebuilds in the 905 are almost always monster SFHs instead of narrower detached homes or semis. Markham is a good example of a city that has a lot of density in new areas around the periphery like Cornell, and of...

    Toronto 335 Yonge | 55.2m | 16s | Lalani | Zeidler

So will this be an airbnb hotel or a de facto Ryerson residence?

    Transit Ridership Statistics & Tracking

For the Stouffville Line, it's interesting that if you don't count Danforth (most of those trips are LSE and its ridership not broken down by line), the stops north of Unionville (and future 15-minute service) are now 51% of ridership and growing.

    Markham York University/Seneca College: Markham Centre Campus | 56.08m | 13s | York University | Diamond Schmitt

I think this is a big win and a good investment by the region! Hopefully when it comes time to expand, the province will be back at the table.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I wish they'd proofread these things:

    Toronto 80 Bloor Street West | 263.4m | 78s | Krugarand | Arcadis

I love the massing on this one. With the right materials, this could be a beauty!

At least Markham is working on stopping the whistling. We do have the whiniest residents though!

    Toronto 320 Bay Modernization | ?m | 18s | Menkes | B+H

I really hope that they remove that awful red digital clock on the corner. It looks like an 80s alarm clock!

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Fantastic news!!!! This has been a long time coming. The DVP traffic is so bad on weekends these days, this should be well used.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Well, Metrolinx shows continual ridership growth on the Stouffville Line, so this guy can move away from the tracks if he wants. I hope weekend service wakes him up from his naps.

How long do you plan to live in your home before reselling?

Lots of boomers are building custom "bungalofts" in the older parts of suburbs these days that are bigger than the houses they had when they had kids in the house. Often 3-4k square-feet of one-level living and guest bedrooms in loft above or in basement. I'm a Gen Xer that is never leaving my...

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

I think Toronto is in need of more family attractions these days, especially year-round, centrally located ones. As stated above, Cullen isn't the best for comparison for a number of reasons, but even then we have to take into account that the GTA has gained over a million people since Cullen...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Correct, possibly stopping once at Kennedy but avoiding all other stops and returning trip times to something closer to what they were 10-15 years ago (trips were around 10 minutes shorter).

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Interesting to note that with the new ridership numbers (https://metrolinx.files.wordpress.com/2019/09/click-here-to-view-the-new-go-ridership-map.pdf), slightly more than half of Stouffville riders are now from stations north of Unionville and its future 15-minute service. I expect much of this...
