Exactly. What I meant by "permanent" is that this has been the case for at least as long as I've lived there; since 2012.

I see tons of it every day. I live at that intersection. Obviously the buses go to Islington, but for a significant number of people, their permanent route is to get off at Auckland.

I'm talking about the permanent setup where riders don't travel to Islington but get off at Auckland and walk into Kipling Station (or leave Kipling and walk to Acorn). Hundreds each rush. It's like the worst sidewalk in the city.

Yeah but think how far MiWay riders are walking now, down that narrow sidewalk with the poles in the middle, in the rain etc. It's far but it's an improvement.

Obviously, I just didn't want anyone thinking I actually know anything...

I've had my suspicions that Six Points Plaza will be sold/redeveloped as soon as the new road network is in place. Suspicion only, but it's a relic. I think the plaza property along with the Apache burger is a great opportunity, given the new civic centre across the street. I think we'll see the...

That's not true at all. Traffic Management Efforts have been made to manage traffic in the area for the safety of workers, road users and residents. Road users should expect delays and increased traffic on nearby main and side streets. Efforts have been made to manage traffic in the area for...

And let's not forget the ROM crystal. Such a tremendous waste of space.

A lot of people, including tons in these forums, are way more concerned with how these condos look from the outside, completely forgetting that these are homes first. People calling for no balconies because they break up the facade. Yeah, well they also offer a small opportunity to be outside...

Yeah, it's not like there's like 3 more years of heavy construction at your doorstep. Oh wait.

I think one of the most concerning things here is that the developer had to know about this before anyone moved in, and they let people move in without saying anything. Like what kind of person inspects a project hears that noise and is like "yup, everything's fine here"?

Yeah I can't really see much of NB; my view stops at the intersection then picks up again at the top of the bridge (25 and 15 Viking are in the view), but even from that aspect, I don't see the traffic backing up onto the bridge much. I would like to think that the one-lane situation is...

I think if they opened even one more SB lane the backup would be much better. Watching from my own birdseye view, I see a lot of the backup caused by turning traffic.

I think getting KPMG or Deloitte involved in the bids could address most of that. But maybe not.

I agree with this. I think there should also be some way of verifying the bid, as in "is it possible to do this job, safely, for this money, and in this timeline?". Do bids get audited? Track record is one thing, but there should be some independent way of checking that the bid is even possible.

Great, like I said I couldn't tell if the doomsday attitude applied to you, but your post made me think of it (there are others of the ilk which are much more gloomy). Yeah, like how great will it be to be able to walk to St James Gate from Essex condos without constant palpitations?

Actually, people still travel NB on Kipling, and some of those people still need to head WB on Dundas (left turn), so the signals have been handling that. I find it hilarious that so many people (don't know if this applies to you) were all "oh my god this is literally the worst. We are all...
