    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

On Sunday I took a EB 512 that got diverted down Bathurst to Bathurst station. Annoying, but also fun for a transit geek to experience.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Yes, and with a bit forethought this would have been built in in the first place. But nooooooo! We're gonna sign an agreement with Metrolinx, then offer free rides for children, lose a bunch of money, then spend more money to update the machines.

E Condos (Bazis, Metropia, RioCan) - Real Estate -

What's a CAM fee? It is odd to be charged for the sqft of the balcony as they are generally considered exclusive use, common elements. In my building I don't have a balcony but others do, so in a way I am helping to pay for the upkeep of their balconies through my maintenance fees :-(

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

Still no news on GTA Weekly Pass which also uses a swipe. My coworker gets one every week (uses YRT and TTC). I am afraid to tell her, I think she is screwed and will have to pay for both every trip (little consolation, but at least she can use the same card)

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

A database of faces? Never gonna fly. What we need is actual Transit police that can compel people to provide ID and if they don't, they should have the power to detain them.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

According to the Fare Evasion report child Presto cards do not indicate to the driver that a child card was used. Since there is no enforcement on buses or within subways, people would get off scott free Fare Inspections do not happen when a streetcar is crowded. So basically you can ride...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

TTC has not been consistent on policy regarding POP and buses. "Your POP proves you have paid your fare and may be requested at any time by a Fare Inspector or an Operator when you transfer between a bus, streetcar or the subway. Proof-of-Payment is required on all streetcar routes and...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT: Eglinton Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

What the heck? But we never got the arrangement indicated in post #202? Closing the west crossing is the worst!

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Frustrates me so much that there is empty, unused space underneath the seats, but no leg room. True, one could maybe fit small suitcase there, but people generally travel light on GO Trains. A problem with having paired seating is the alignment with the windows might be off, but I'd happily...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

In most cases with paired seating, half the seats face in each direction. So you would still have the option of sitting in the direction of travel as long as those seats weren't full yet.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

After having visited Montreal and riding the EXO (formerly AMT) trains, I wonder why Metrolinx insists on quad seating for GO passenger cars. I found it so nice to be able to stretch out under the seat in front of me, even if every seat was occupied. There also isn't the awkwardness of having...

    VIA Rail

I had a weird experience yesterday. Was riding train 69 from Montreal to Toronto. It was an LRC. Approached my seat 8C and was surprised to see it was in a quad. Eventually there are 3 of us single passengers in the quad and we get chatting about how it was kinda crowded and we'd prefer if one...
