I thought I remembered them saying that they would be using the bells (like they do on the Trillium Line) because of regulations, but it's been a pretty long time since I've heard one of them use their bells.

Peak transit use through the core is currently closer to 11,000pphpd and launch capacity is actually supposed to be 10,400pphpd. There was enough concern about the launch capacity of the line that they ordered two extra (two-car) trainsets which are already nearing completion.

Would highly recommend Earth Studio for this.

They do, they're just mounted underneath the train instead of in front. IIRC, they weren't running trains frequently enough (testing hadn't ramped up nearly as much at that point) and ended up being unprepared to clear all the snow that had fallen afterwards.

The 12 day test did not appear to begin today (I guess they only really found out today). Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

That being said, historically Ottawa has had an urban rail system for the last ~20 or so years. Sure there's a difference between operating/driving a "heavy" rail DMU and an electric LRV, but it's not like Ottawa doesn't have recent experience with rail.

That's what the media said, not officials. CBC blew the whole snow thing out of proportion and now more than half the city thinks the trains will stop working at the first snowfall, which as demonstrated over the last 2 months, is absolutely not the case. The doors and panels are the same...

The tunnel was supposed to be built with a waterproofing layer and apparently it was botched, hence the leakage. The Dow's Lake tunnel (that runs right under the Rideau Canal) here in Ottawa also leaks, and the water is pumped out accordingly. I don't expect the downtown tunnel to be any different!

You're overblowing a lot of those issues. Water leakages don't cause service interruptions, and RTG (or rather, RTM) has to deal with the maintenance for the next few decades anyway. The vehicles don't have reliability issues in the winter, it was a track maintenance issue (i.e. not enough...

Track capacity North of South Keys is very limited and increasing it to support interlining would be extremely expensive. Several overpasses, a bridge, and a tunnel would need to be doubled. North of South Keys can (and will) only support trains every 12 minutes so even if you just interlined...

Yes! That's all correct. However if you want to add a distinction, the branch to the airport will only use the LINTs (and they won't be coupled to each other on the branch). The platforms on the branch will only support the ~40m long trains, so the FLIRTs will be too long.

The 97 will be split once the confederation line opens and will only run between Hurdman and the Airport (with the other half going between Tunney's and Bells Corners). Once the Airport Train line opens then the 97 will be axed. The main difference between the 747 and the 97 is that we don't...

The LINTs will continue to be straight diesel, and the new FLIRTs will be diesel-electric.

There will only be two active types of rolling stock on the Trillium Line. (LINT and FLIRT) The Bombardier Talents were retired 4 years ago and were sold this past December. Their whereabouts and current status are unknown, but last June they were still on a storage track at Walkley Yard.

    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

There's been a strange (I guess..?) lack of any word from MOOSE on the approval of Stage 2 (which was a few weeks ago too) but apparently they're still alive. From the MOOSE news page, they're in Detroit giving a presentation tomorrow. https://www.letsgomoose.ca/media/

You'd think so but just yesterday Mr. Potvin was posting on SSP about some conference he attended in the UK making MOOSE sound just as "alive" as ever... No idea what he thinks MOOSE can do from this point onwards.. but I guess we'll see. There was no mention today, but last week there was...

There's a crossover to the East of Hurdman (between Hurdman and Tremblay). It's not a diamond crossover though. They're only expediting two of the trains apparently (one of which may already be assembled?). Those concerns aren't official by any means.

I can't tell if my attached file is visible (it isn't on my end) but the PDF is now also hosted on the O-Train fans site on the FLIRT page.^

I don't think anyone expects the Trillium line to provide similar levels of service to the Confederation Line, but the levels offered are still fairly low for what the line should be offering. More importantly we got screwed over a few years ago when they "upgraded" it to bring the headways...
