Toronto Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and Harbour Square Park | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

They seriously need to reclad harbour castle hotel in a gold/brass colour instead of that ugly beige tone. This should be included in the budget, right now the biggest eyesore on the entire waterfront (along with that hideous condo commie block next to it).

What is Toronto's current population? (Yes, I Googled)

Actually, census updates are considered to be far more accurate than census figures due to the census undercount. That's the very reason census updates are released a year after the official census numbers. We get census updates every 5 years, The next one will be in 2017. Even if Chicago was...

    City fatigue?

The place that really stands out is the Rosedale area (around Yonge/Roxborough), some of the old money neighbourhoods like that have really unfriendly people. Polite enough when you talk to them but no eye contact or smiles otherwise. Parts of Markham are a little anti-social too, but that's...

    Toronto BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

I'm sure they can easily add a camera or camera crane on one of the roof elements to give viewers at home and stadium attendees via the jumbotron a look at our skyline :)

    City fatigue?

I'm very much a city person and love the interactions in anonymous high density parts of major cities. That being said, I also understand and value living in a community with friendly people you have things in common (or have mutual interests) with. I find the best way to get the most out of a...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

It allows me to watch game from anywhere I have internet/wifi access (on tablet or phone) and I can rewatch previous games from the same season at any time with a fast HD stream. There are options for a condensed game, etc. (20 minutes or so with just the highlights), hearing the commentary...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

Still doesn't change the circumstances mentioned in my comments. Prairie based viewers are not a reflection of the popularity of the club, Raptors and TFC have more grassroots support in Toronto based on turnout and all around visibility in the city (people wearing the gear, attending the...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

Nonsense, you haven't given any reason to believe that Toronto viewers are responsible for those numbers, it's entirely possible that prairie viewers are responsible. Argos games are viewed in the low hundreds of thousands, still no evidence that more than a tiny trickle is coming from Toronto...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

Argo ratings are competitive with the Jays but there's no evidence that they are being watched by local audiences. Most likely they are an out of GTA phenomenon such as Saskatchewan fans (who are responsible for 60 % of CFL merchandising sales for example) or prairie fans. I've seen this...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

They can't even fill a stadium but they think they can organize a protest lol There are a grand total of 6 Argos fans in all Toronto, moving right along...

Canadian Soccer Association to bid for 2026 World Cup

+1000 Well said, this is why Canada works, sober thinking and a patient longterm strategic approach!

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

If Canada is successful in its pursuit of a World Cup bid then there would many stakeholders financing a multi-use domed stadium capable of hosting NFL anyway (the NFL has a smaller field than CFL). There seems to be a lot of momentum there and Canada appears to be the most visible candidate...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

My understanding is the local government have no legal right to prevent a move of a sports team as that is only within the remit of the NFL and franchise owners to decide. Where government has leverage is with the terms of the lease where breaking the 2023 lease involves a $400mil fine. That...

MLSE & Bon Jovi to Pursue NFL/Buffalo Bills

The hard part is getting it, if they get it they have an excellent chance to move it in 2019-2020 (when the low cost relocation window opens up). This works out well since that's likely when we'll get a stadium built in this city anyway. Regardless, its looking increasingly like a tossup...

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

As long as its a beautiful glass structure I'm okay with building atop the dominion building (the Yonge street side is rather quiet and could use the extra density), I'm more concerned about the more conventional towers smack dab among the older distillery district buildings.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

My main gripe is with the colours of mechanical floors on come towers throughout this city, just dishing out the colour variation idea since many of you here are in the architectural and development community. Hopefully it inspires some to deviate from the norm on future projects.
