    Toronto MaRS Centre Phase 2 | 112.77m | 20s | Alexandria | B+H

Any word on this? Now that One Bloor is back on this project is the most notable casualty of the recession.

He might not have said that, but he was quoted recently in Xtra saying there will never be another dance floor in the village, because it's a residential area. Apparently people can go get sloshed out of their minds without issue, but once they start dancing it's a big problem. Anyways while I...

    Union Station: Northwest PATH Expansion

Does anyone know what the plan is for the connections from the Four Seasons Centre to the Hilton and the Sheraton? It's been shown as a "future walkway" on the PATH map for quite a while now and it would fill in a pretty big gap.

Toronto Sherbourne Common, Canada's Sugar Beach, and the Water's Edge Promenade | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto | Teeple Architects

Heaven forbid anybody have a little fun in this city. It may not be your thing, but Guv is a (ahem) world-class entertainment venue.

    Church-Wellesley Village

I was there on Sunday around noon. The service was good and the food was great, but it wasn't very busy at all. They've got a lot of space to fill in there. Hopefully it sticks around because it's a nice alternative to the pubs.

It's no beauty queen but for PoMo it's pretty benign.

Exactly. The PATH is more of a convenience for people who live and work in the area. If you were a tourist visiting Toronto why would you want to lock yourself in a maze of enclosed walkways? You experience a city by being out on the street.

    Toronto Bloor Street Neighbourhood Condos | ?m | 32s | Cresford | Northgrave

Hard to believe this monstrosity topped out months before Casa. Cresford has treated it like their unwanted stepchild while they lavished attention on their superstar across the street.

I think you're under attack because you're judging the value of a lively and undeniably urban retail strip based on how it looks from 40 floors up. If those buildings are knocked down the ground-level retail in any new development will probably consist of two banks and a Starbucks. That would be...

    Church-Wellesley Village

This whole bylaw on dance clubs doesn't make sense. You can open up endless bars where people can get wasted out of their minds, but add in a dance floor and suddenly it's an affront to the community?

Your day of financial reckoning is nigh, Toronto

Don't worry, with practice you'll be able to detect a glen post based on the title.

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

A few years ago The Star showed a plan to connect College Park to the PATH network, going via Ryerson to 10 Dundas East. I haven't heard anything about it in quite a while, but it would certainly be a significant expansion. RoCP are connected to College Park too so it would add three condos...

There's still a massive amount of parking on Yonge between Lakeshore and Queens Quay. But I expect that will change before long. There are also several lots left on Bay Street that need to go.

Well such surprises are not unprecedented. Just look at Cresford's latest masterpiece. Perhaps RoCP:Aura :: BSN:Casa

    Transit City Plan

How does BRT take up less road space than LRT? In either case you have to set aside lanes for transit vehicles, and as I understand it LRT takes up less space because the vehicles are on rails and thus the lanes don't need be as wide. If there is no ROW then it's not BRT, it's just an express...

Seconded, I would have much preferred if the mech box was not visible at all.

    Not a 24 Hour City

Doesn't Cresford already do this? I figured that's how they got so many people to buy at BSN.
  19. threnody

    Not a 24 Hour City

A 24 hour district is definitely a good idea, and the area around Yonge and College already has a number of 24 hour places in a small area. There's: A grocery store (Metro) A pharmacy (Shopper's) Two restaurants (Golden Griddle and Fran's) A convenience store (7-11 slightly to the north)

Heading to the Toronto Island Airport, need a place to park a car, preferably cheap!

If you're driving all that way and parking for a week it wouldn't it have made more sense to park at Pearson? If you have to drive to some 905 VIA station and pay for a train ticket to Toronto it seems to negate any advantage of flying out of the island.
