I had thought that Murano was going to be my favourite all-time Clewes building, but based on the render and the consturction so far, this one could cause me to reconsider. Regardless - what a fantastic building, definitely amoung Clewes' best and infinitely better than the other buidlings in...

Ont Gov't building at 880 Bay, at Grosvenor St (ORC, 44s?, WZMH)

I've always loved the landscaping out in front of the building at St. Clair and Avenue. which I suspect is a direct result of MOE. It would be a shame to see it removed or abandoned.

I would hope that I have a solid 60 -70 years left. I just can't imagine the site being developed...hopefully I'm wrong. I'd love to see the area livened up a bit. While they're at it they could replace the light bulbs in the Toronto Star's ground-level signage, it looks horrendous.

As bad as the stretch of Yonge between QQ and the Gardiner is -- and I won't pretend it's anything but bad -- I have to give the city props for really making an effort over the past couple of years. A number of large granite-clad planters have been put in , as well as at lesat 30 or 40 trees...

Shoot -- that didn't work. Which url should I be pasting in between ? (The FAQs say the url of the image, not the page it appears on...which url would that be when using flickr? Sorry for the technical incompetence.)

Here is another shot of the steel that went up on top of the Ritz today - I happened to go to Burrito Boyz for lunch and had a great vantage point. This is my first time uploading a picutre to this site, and I don't really have any idea how to do it (I read the FAQs but remain a bit confused -...

The base of the tower crane is being installed today. When I walked by, only the tower portion was on site - I didn't see a cab or boom waiting to be put on top. I'm not sure if those pieces will follow later today or if they'll be insalled later this week.

Toronto Festival Tower and tiff Bell Lightbox | 156.96m | 42s | Daniels | KPMB

The tower looks very average right now. My only source of optimism is the roof element that was featured in the renders...based on what I saw there, there should be a large glass box on top which might be quite striking. That said, I've been let down by renders before and am trying not to get...

This will certainly look unlike anything else in the financial district. I think that the stone looks fantastic.

    Toronto Waterlink at Pier 27 | 43.89m | 14s | Cityzen | a—A

It also sounds like there might be a large outstanding tax liability, which would probably have to be assumed by any buyer.

    Toronto Waterlink at Pier 27 | 43.89m | 14s | Cityzen | a—A

There is an interesting story on the Star's website this morning about Capitain John's going up for sale (pasted below). I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that Capital John's would be forced out of the current location once Pier 27 was completed and the public promenade down the...

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

^Agreed. I think that at this location, where the streetscape has been so compromised on the other two (or possibly three, depending on you view of Stollerys) corners, I would much rather see a buidling that brings some life to this intersection at street level rather than one that towers over...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

It would be fantastic if College Park itself is refurbished as part of this project. I can't beleve that more wasn't done to improve the park as part of the RoCP project. Although very small, it's a great urban space.

    Toronto Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

The diagonal lines in the balcony glass are pretty cool, and I like how the shape of the rooftop "architectural features" continue them. Overall, however, I still don't like the pale green colour that they have used. A different cladding would have made a huge difference. I know the dangers...

    Toronto The New Residences of Yorkville Plaza | 92.05m | 31s | Camrost-Felcorp | WZMH COMPLETE

A good comparison might be the view looking north up Bay Street from down around King or Wellington. From this perspective, the view of Old City Hall's clock tower has been considerably compromised by the RoCP towers in the background -- I remember being quite surprised at how dramatic the...

    Toronto First Canadian Place Rejuvenation | 298.08m | 72s | Brookfield | MdeAS Architects

Nope - most of the floors will be re-clad by means of a large, two-story moving platform that will work its way down the building. The scaffolidng will only cover the bottom floors. You can get an idea of how the platforms will work by watching the animated video that is available here...
