Never should have torn it up if they weren’t going to finish it before Winter.Looks great. But I would very much like that sidewalk back soon.

Absolutely! The City used not to issue these kinds of permit in winter as it is clearly not possible (or possible a a reasonable cost) to pour concrete in mid-winter and it is absolutely crazy they have blocked a major sidewalk for 4+ months.Never should have torn it up if they weren’t going to finish it before Winter.
100%. I'm sure this sounds like a petty complaint to many people but walking downtown has been a nightmare for most of the winter, and this single closure was perfectly positioned to cause me to make multiple extra street crossings when trying to get to/from my home, No Frills, and the King/Sherbourne streetcar stop. Each extra crossing meaning a new navigation of dangerous snowbanks, boot-soaking puddles, etc. I'm sure this was the case for thousands of other people too. But hey, who could have imagined it would snow in the winter in Canada?Absolutely!
