Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Agreed. Look pretty different to me. I wouldn't call 4 pink though. The one TTC has occasionally used for Jane I'd call pink.

They could have easily used one of the colours from the CNE logo itself for the Ontario Line, since that is the end point of the line. Pretty vibrant colour choices in the logo as well...

Im sorry this is hilarious.

"construction could lead to temporary DVP closures"

*gestures broadly*

"Building the Bloor Viaduct 3 times" is a hilarious stretch. The Lower Don Crossing is nowhere near the scale of the Don Valley Crossing.

You also gotta love that the only lesson that they're sharing that they're learned is to only give completely vague completion dates to the public.

New CLC docs are out for Cosburn Station + Don Valley Crossing & Minton Portal. Also, I noticed yesterday that the crest pieces of the Lower Don Crossing are now in place. Sorry, not photos (yet).

I can confirm the press event at Exhibition Station will now be Monday at 12:00 (Noon).
Not surprising given the weather today.

What will happen at the press event? I assume it's show off the fully assembled TBM but they won't be firing it up.

Turns out my eyes deceived me yesterday from the Queen viaduct. There is only 1 crest piece for the Lower Don Crossing in place and a support for the other.

That said, that corner (Don Mills & Eglinton) is going to be an insanely valuable piece of real estate what with two major transit lines crossing right there. It'll be like the next Yonge and Bloor.
In theory, that would make a good office node, especially if/when the Midtown GO line is built providing E/W regional access, and Line 3 is extended up to Sheppard.

Currently, Barrie, Richmond Hill and UP Express all use blue, with Line 10 also being added to the mix. Although it's not a way in which either Metrolinx or TTC describe their lines officially, the possibility of someone saying “take the blue line” being a much more complex prospect than it initially appeared was something of a preoccupation.
Now that we are looking at 15 lines in the GTA (13 currently operating), there's going to be some colour overlaps between services.

As cities grow, simple unique colours become impossible. We certainly see this in London on the map for TFL services and commuter rail services, that includes 42 different line types/colour. This is resolved with different types of lines (solid, hollow, dashed - even multiple colour for HSR services)

Even the simple tube map has 22 different line colours/types. Reuse becomes essential.

Keep in mind, Kinga Surma referred to Michael Lindsay as her "partner in crime" on multiple occasions when he was the head of IO. Mr. Lindsay also had no problem, evidently, in pushing the collapsing science centre roof narrative.

I also enjoy (/s) Ford's referring to this as an "engineering marvel".

You'd think he was talking about building a functional replica of the space shuttle! It's a bog standard subway line...
With all due respect, this is the first time he's seen what a subway train looks like, so cut him some slack.
