Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Of course, UT knew that back on January 12th, from this post:

One could even have inferred in on January 9th via @DSCToronto 's post.....
or this Star article

Didn't Mayor Chow mention an update would be issued in late January? Hope an announcement is scheduled soon given this week is the last week of January.

This was supposed to go to this week's meeting of Executive Ctte.

However, that has been cancelled and not rescheduled.

It may go to TTC next week or it could directly to Council I suppose.

Currently, there is no Executive Ctte meeting scheduled til Mid April.

TTC agenda should be up tomorrow, Council should be up Wednesday.

Now that Doug Ford has personally leaked opening day, one suspects that, if the city makes a liar of him, the Executive Committee's kneecaps will receive a special deposition from Cody Welton's sledgehammer.

Bike lanes may have been promised 10 years back when we still had a pro bike Premier... but this government outlawed bike lanes...
Bills 212 and 60 exempt projects that are underway, so at least Phase 1 of Eglinton from Keele to Mt Pleasant should be safe. Can't say the same for Phase 2 from Mt Pleasant to Brentcliffe though.

Yikes? Especially considering the Feb 8th opening?

Why would the city prioritize clearing snow from a transit line which isn't in revenue service?

It wouldn't prioritize it if it were in service. Maintenance of the Crosstown is not a City responsibility, its a consortium responsibility, just like on Finch. Its the consortium's responsibility to clear the ROW.

There were certainly observations of cars operating earlier in day, and today. Was any testing scheduled last night? There'd be no point in clearing it until the wind and snow stopped - I say judging by how much the path I dug at 5 pm had filled back in by dawn.
