If this was Seoul or Tokyo, a street like Yonge would have been revamped 3 times over in the past decade..

Well yes, Canadian cities are still stuck in the 1970s when it comes to urbanization/pedestrianization. Even in our downtown cores, it's all built for cars with people/bicycles fighting for whatever scrap of space is left over. We'll have to wait another generation before Toronto gets serious about re-designing its streets.

2-3 streets done, another 11,000 to go

Part of Temperence Street
Half of Market Street
Part of Wellington Street
Tiny portion of Bloor

Don't forget that tiny portion of Front St in front of Union Station!

I think the whole Yonge needs full redesign lol

Well yes, I live a few blocks from here but avoid Yonge Street at all costs. There's no reason it can't one day be as nice as George Street in Sydney but after 20 years of waiting I've given up that it will get done in my life time. And let's be frank, its public realm needs to be ripped up and rebuilt from Queens Quay to Lawrence. Just a few blocks downtown? Good grief.
