Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Coors, many moons ago, Merged with Molson.

The former was nominally HQ'd in Colorodo, and Molson in Canada.

The global company is now run out of Chicago, but Molson Coors North America is HQ'd in Toronto.

Molson also has a large brewery in the City, up near the airport. Hence things as they are.......

Coors, is now, kinda/sorta a Canadian brand, or Molson is American, take your choice.
Unfortunately irrelevant because they make ultra shitty beer.

The momentum is moving towards this changing soon. We'll see if the provinces finally come to their senses and put down the barriers.
Be that as it may, it will still be highly regulated (not as much as in the past), heavily taxed and have a high profit margin.. Allowing more products from other provinces will simply increase the product line. You might see more items on sale due to increased competition but they won't be significant. The LCBO, and probably most other provincial regulators, still sets minimum pricing, so a manufacturer's 'wiggle room' for a sale is pretty small.

Well, the pricing is also part of harm reduction.

Are the allegations getting closer??

The former Ford government staffer at the heart of the Greenbelt scandal has been accused of promising to help developer for money

A lawsuit alleges Ryan Amato and another government staffer promised to use “backchannel contacts” to secure rezoning. Both men deny the allegations

Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford has said he will permanently cut taxes on gas and diesel and remove tolls on the publicly owned stretch of Highway 407 if he is re-elected as premier.

He will also pass legislation to ban congestion pricing on all provincial and municipal roadways in the province, he said, speaking in Pickering on Thursday.

"You deserve to keep more of what you earn every single day," Ford said.

You get to keep more money. Time? Sorry, you don't get that back.

One of the companies named in the suit is Frontier Group of Companies lead by someone with the last name Lisi ... Now where have I heard a similar name before... (Perhaps a coincidence)

3am rage fest - why can't we secede from the province? Absentmindedly checking Spadina-Fort York on elections Ontario and am reminded that we are totally disenfranchised by that pool-hall-goon-in-a-cheap-suit. Less than 30% turnout but Glover floats around like God's gift to the downtown elites. I wish we had a mayor who had some balls or at least some self-respect. Toronto, Canada, now. Toronto, Canada, tomorrow. Toronto, Canada forever. Tell me why serial killers go to the Supreme Court to whine about their rights but Canada's biggest city has to put up with this *&@&. Cities in Africa have better representation that we do.

It would require a referendum by all affected residents to ensure that it is the will of the people. Afterwards, you would likely need to amend the Canadian Constitution which requires the signatures of 7 provinces representing 50% of the population.

Given that Ontario is the most populous province in Canada with approximately 38% of the population it would be almost impossible to do this without their support. I highly doubt Ontario would be willing to give up their economic powerhouse.

A nice idea but about as likely as John Turmel winning a seat in the Ontario Election.

Perhaps a constitutional amendment could be avoided by making Toronto a territory instead of a province, or give it some other kind of special status apart from Ontario. In any case, it's rather difficult to imagine it ever happening. There's a better chance of Canada acquiring the Turks and Caicos islands.

Personally I would rather them annex St Pierre Et Miquelon. Given how far away it is from Europe, I can't foresee France having too many issues with it.

I do think there is a good argument to be made that Toronto should be its own special administrative area and Ottawa-Gatineau should be its own National Capital Territory but i'm afraid neither are going to happen any time soon as there is no political will to make it happen at either the provincial or federal levels.

STPMQ its such an inconsequential place these days that it doesn't even really matter what it is. People there get free university education in France, though!
