Big week for Republic: 3 major Toronto projects earn approvals

The week of Feb. 5 was a momentous one for Republic Developments as it received a council-endorsed settlement for a major development and full zoning approval for two smaller projects from the City of Toronto.

I spoke to the city planners on file a few weeks back and they noted that this project has not yet received it's full zoning approvals. Just for clarity, we do now have a binding order from the OLT. We don't know when the city plans to update their application website.

Last drink at pennies is such a sad thought. Such a unique spot.

March 8. The Enterprise car rental outlet has closed, but there is no easily visible signage on any of the businesses indicating pending closure. A couple of photos of the site's current status, with the blacked-out Enterprise Car Rental sign :

Such a big lot of downtown and only one (reduced in size) retail/commercial spot will be on it. I just can't get over it. These streets should be vibrant and mixed use not lined with ground-level private residential entrances!

It appears that occupancy was pushed from May 2026 to May 2027 based on this website. More time to enjoy Pennies
