This building wouldn’t really bother me if it were on Dupont somewhere, but given its prominent location at a major intersection beside a future subway station, I must confess my disappointment. I know it’s not finished, but it’s looking insanely bland to a degree that I’m not sure that any...

I don’t even mind the fact that is black, but I agree, if that’s the final look, it leaves a little to be desired. We’ll see.

This is a fun thread. I’m all for 50 storeys at this intersection, but two thumbs down on the existing renders for me.

“Travel times to downtown will triple” Top quality comment, really funny and illuminating.

Once you clear the podium, it’s not SO so bad.. the execution’s pretty cheap, but I really quite like the balcony design. I think it’ll ultimately look ok from a distance. We’ll see. The podium though… between XO at King and Dufferin and The 1200 Dundas West, I thought I’d seen the worst that...

Such a weird balcony design. It’s not amazing or terrible, just deeply weird.

Cladding on the north and south elevations has progressed far enough that I can finally state that this subjectively looks like total shit and is one of the top five most disappointing project executions of the last decade. Inflammatory take, I know. Obviously the podium is strong, but it just...

Toronto: always worried how we measure up to other cities.

Indeed. That part of the gardiner’s belly actually looks vastly improved, work was ongoing just west of where I took that photo, but vastly improved only means so much considering it looked a notably rough part of Gotham five years ago

Tuesday March 5. South of Fort York. Photo doesn’t really do this view justice, it feels extremely urban.

Taken Tuesday March 5. Curvy columns head back upright it would seem.

Mississauga Square One District Phase One | ?m | 52s | Oxford Properties | Arcadis

Bit off topic, but the clock tower at Mississauga civic centre as seen in Lake Ontario’s excellent first photo directly above is a strong contender for one of my least favorite buildings in the GTA. It’s so hopelessly ugly and hokey, and will only feel increasing dated as the area modernizes...

My admittedly unscientific count of Northern Light’s photo from Feb 22 is that it was on the 52nd floor. Probably up to 54 or so by now.
