They could've just sandwiched this between the W and the RBC at the Bay down Bloor East. Wouldn't need to do much to the building if that's the look they were going for.

Sadly, it's density over quality in this case.

I mean... why not. Seeing what happening at 145 St George next door can only help.

It's an odd one, because in person, the materials don't look as bad. Yes there's lots of them, of different colours and textures, but I think it deserves some time to grow taller, because the hight might visually elongate some of the cluttered lines. Park in the wait and see pile for now.

Is there no design review panel in this city to look at this monstrosity, and simply say no? Another VEed Teeple monument to bad design and worse materials?

IF, we do. Not casting doubts, but the market realities may dictate it.

Makes sense. The space in the back was part of the Brooks Brothers, and housed a spiral staircase leading to their lower level retail. Since SL are taking over both units 5 and 6 on that ground level, the variance application could be for an entrance from the park to an entirely different...

Cladding seems to be up! Tts just hidden on the inside side of the tower. Spotted it in person yesterday. Here it is in @Red Mars 's photo

The installation of the cladding anchors and insulation on the columns is like the longest extended drum roll for that first panel of cladding. Luckily theres lots more to look forward to...

It's just laughable at this point! The inner sides of the towers were supposed to be sleek curtain wall are the same spandrel from the back of the building in the alley. 🤣 PS can't wait to read how Toronto realtor will have to spin this as "ultra luxury" in their listings. "Do you enjoy prison...

I really don't get the hate for this one. Is it an architectural marvel? not by any stretch. But a simple condo tower that'll be sandwiched between 4 towers covering each of its sides, with clean lines, and decent materials - can't say this about 70% of the new developments in the city.

Interesting to see the under the last poured floors there are no corner columns underneath them. Seems like it's the ones where the diagonal hangers begin/meet at that ceiling.
