Tbh I'd be fine with either McCowan and Sheppard or Scarborough Town Centre. A one stop subway transfer isn't too bad imo. My only concern at this point is whether they are actually serious about this project to begin with or not, and I'm beginning to think that they might not be.

I sent an email to the Sheppard Extension Metrolinx email asking for updates on the next round of consultations. They haven't responded and it has been more than two weeks. At this point, I'm not even sure that it's being monitored.

I hope they actually aren't considering making this an LRT.... Plus, we haven't heard back from Metrolinx regarding an extension again have we?

Metrolinx is supposed to come out with a second round of consultations in the Spring right? Any thoughts on when these might begin?

Yeah, but there is no logical equivalency to your example and transit here. An LRT is nothing basically than a fancier streetcar, a marginal improvement from a bus. That's not "in between" walking and subways. And as for "in between" walking and subways, we have something called buses.

What I'm saying is rather than building two shitty projects, build one good one. At the end of the day, you didn't address a single point I made about LRTs, you haven't been able to justify your point at all. Just because you consider building LRTs 'more transit' doesn't mean it actually...

And what is the harm in doing that, especially when the alternative is building multi-billion dollar LRTs that are slow, not grade separated, stop at stop lights, and have stop distances less than our Express buses?

You clearly haven't looked into the EELRT. It has two or three more stops than the current 986 route, and the 986 already has it's own right of way. And the city's own analysis has indicated it would be something like three minutes slower than the current RapidTO bus lane. So no, it's a crappy plan.
