But remember, Robbie didn't need to read the councillors' Code of Conduct pamphlet... he already knows all that stuff, since he's the scion of a political dynasty.... i.e., his daddy was a one-term backbencher who wasn't allowed by the PCs to run again for the nomination.

It's a win/win for Dougie. He gets the media coverage, AND the backlash against it, to bolster the whole poor-me victim thing.

I think I read somewhere that council would have to ratify any choice for Deputy Mayor. I'm too lazy to double-check this. So Dougie can't just dictate who he wants. I just can't see council going along with Robbie as Deputy!
