Not to remove the significance of the TEMPLE BUILDING by means,

however what we have sitting at the front door in all of it's slendor is a

1956 BUICK ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE; truely a bonified collector's item.

When I see these photos of stunning early 20th century Toronto streetscapes, I can't help but think of how ludicrous it is to claim, as some do, that this was a small provincial town back then. But if those buildings were replaced with some bland high-rise buildings, and perhaps one or two landmarks, one might get such an impression with the evidence to the contrary wiped out.

1) First bloc north of Davenport with Careful Hand Laundry. (S of the former Canadian Tire store.)

2) Second block S of Davenport where at the corner was Bates & Maddocks F H - now a restaurant.

#) Third block south. N/W corner.

Thanks for that reminder of my days working in the photo studio pictured here - the centre building with framed portraits in the window.
It was the Robert McMichael Photography Studio.
Yes, the same McMichael who later founded the gallery in Kleinburg.
Wedding photography was great fun (c.1956), especially the free meals!
