Zellers returns..... (yes, really)_

The new Zellers location opened today. Sells clothing, home decor, accessories, and seasonal items. Will have a ''Zeddy's World'' in 2026 in which you will be able to get customized versions of the Zeddy plushie. Owners say they will open more Zellers locations across Canada starting in 2026 with many of them being in former Hudsons Bay locations. The Edmonton location is considered a test location and will not reflect the design of the future locations.

Day 1 "70% off storewide". Gotta love retailer shenanigans.

The owners are International Clothiers and we know how cheap those guys are... they're probably trying to position the new Zellers as a deep discount store quite clearly. People spotted utensils from the long defunct Bombay stores in there, for god's sakes... probably from the back of some warehouse somewhere.

No, Bombay licenses the name out now. We get those at HomeSense all the time. They're not old utensils. But I don't blame you for thinking so. Benitah probably still owns the rights to that name.

I am surprised about that. But the fact is what was at this new Zellers looked old.

Yeah, if you go to their website, it's all about licensing opportunities. Some manufacturer got the license to the name so that's why you may see it back in rotation.

Are there any photos? I saw the licensed ones yesterday at Winners so I know what they look like.

Interesting. I see those all the time at Winners and HomeSense. I'm pretty certain these are the newer licensed ones, and I've also seen Bombay wooden spoons and other cooking utensils for sale at Winners. I find it hard to believe they let a bunch of utensils sit out in a warehouse for about half a decade. But like I said I don't blame you for thinking so, especially with how INC can be.

I guess INC is keeping it in the family! Bombay and Bowring revival up next maybe?

Homesense also have Bombay branded barware and flower pots too.
