Twitter profits from controversy. Only just before the British general election in late 2019 did Twitter prohibited all political advertising.

Note that there weren't many major suspensions before the GamerGate controversy in 2014 (the controversy essentially has to do with gender representation in video games and video game journalism).
Regardless, confirmation bias regardless of political views (and the lack of rapid moderation) leads to Twitter becoming toxic.
Twitter is not the only one to be blamed, though it still deserves the lion's share. Facebook (and Instagram), Reddit, and YouTube are also major sources of disinformation if you don't have well developed critical thinking skills and are also toxic due in part to confirmation bias and lack of rapid moderation. Some died from misinformation even. COVID-19 has plenty of indirect deaths, such as suicides as a result of some believing that the disease would bring about the end of the world as we know it; the world ended for them instead.

Both need to be shut down for clearly violating the terms of service from their hosts.

It is low indeed. The place is sorting itself out with everyone stuck at home.
Even my work has become a sort of calmer place. Everyone's re-evaluating what's what and placing less importance on being a harried and stressed out hectic head case. Bout time.

As BC is seemingly ahead of the curve right now compared to majority of Canada, I'd expect Ontario to follow suit but at a later interval. I don't see students returning to classes here though within this school year.

Three more people have died of COVID-19, all in long-term care homes, bringing the total number of deaths in B.C. to 81.
Henry said B.C. will be thinking in "two-week increments" as it begins to lift some restrictions, possibly in mid-May, in a "best case scenario."
She said B.C. residents will likely have more opportunities for social interactions over the summer, but that "realistically, there will be no major events this summer."
"I would tell people to think small. We are not going to be having large gatherings," she said.
Henry said B.C. will remain vulnerable to outbreaks and challenges in other provinces, and that, though the curve appears to have flattened, it's too early to relax current physical distancing measures.
Restrictions that could be lifted, should B.C. manage to hold its line throughout the next month, include elective surgeries, and children returning to school.

First, important to make the population adjustment; just for clarity.
Ontario is about 14.6M vs BC at about 5M on the dot.
So BC's death toll adjusted to Ontario's population is about 237 which is still a bit less than 1/2 of Ontario's number.
Now, that said, if you look across the three provinces, the largest portion of the difference is attributable to 3 letters. LTC
Or, Long-Term Care.
58% of Ontario's Covid deaths; and more than 70% of Quebec's have been in Long Term Care.
The number is BC is lower.
BC moved more quickly than Ontario to limit staff movements between LTC sites, and to contain outbreaks (testing was more aggressive in BC in general)
BC has tested roughly twice the number of people per capita.
It also has a better organized public health system than Ontario's; led by SARS veteran Bonnie Henry.
Finally, BC told people not to leave the province for March break, where Ontario's premier said something else.

Joe Rogan has made many right-wing people very popular...and a result people think he needs to be 'de-platformed'... I heard it often at my uni.
His podcasts with Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro were very very popular.
And his Podcast with Alex Jones is likely one of the most hilarious podcasts ever made.
However, he has had very famous podcasts with Bernie Saunders and others and his podcast with a famous disease specialist went viral and really hit the seriousness to COVID 19 to many.
Its why he has a bigger audience than almost any talk show right now as he talks to almost anyone, which is something I think all of the people yearn for. Even if he has a person like RDJ on, they are in a totally different form then if they are on a late-night talk show.
