TORONTO, Feb. 13 /CNW/ - Heenan Blaikie, one of Canada's top law firms,
is moving into Toronto's new Bay Adelaide Centre in the third quarter of 2009.
Heenan Blaikie and Brookfield Properties recently finalized negotiations for a
long-term 120,000 square foot lease. The new offices will comfortably
accommodate internal growth and meet the needs of a growing client base.
"We are extremely proud and excited by our continued growth - this move
is a reflection of our success," says Norman Bacal, Co-Managing Partner of
Heenan Blaikie.
The new Bay Adelaide Centre is being built by Brookfield Properties to
the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard.
LEED(R) is the internationally accepted scorecard for sustainable sites, water
efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor
environmental quality.
"As a Best Workplaces in Canada recipient in 2007, we continue to be
committed to providing the best possible 'life-work' environment for our more
than 300 lawyers and support staff in Toronto," says Bacal.
The Bay Adelaide Centre will be a modern, efficient and
environmentally-friendly office complex. It will use state-of-the-art
innovation and design technologies.
"The new office space will be designed to make us more efficient and
flexible. It will be equipped with the most up to date technology. Most
importantly, it gives us the opportunity to fulfill our ongoing promise to
deliver smarter, better and more efficient services that will meet and exceed
our clients' needs and expectations. Our clients will enjoy the benefits of
this new space," says Bacal.

^ So 10% of the total office space (= 5 floors), then. If they were at 65% of total space leased before, are they at 75% now? Or was that 10% included in the 65% figure?

From someone that thinks they know it all. And hates this forum.

But I trust him, and he is almost never wrong.

(I'm sure he'll reveal his source soon enough)

If BA2 does start by the end of the year, then there will be lots of growing in that part of town. Considering that the excavation/underground parking construction is already complete, BA2 should pretty much begin to rise relatively quickly.

it would certainly go up faster than BA I since there's no stump to demolish, but i'd imagine they'd still need to dig out the old parking garage to make way for the new core.

A major financial company/investment firm is moving into BA v2.0 I heard. Is that what you heard Caltrane?

The news I heard is second hand, from goodlookin' on SSP. He won't reveal his source. - Which would be a given.

your rite about that it shure will. their's no doubt about it.

Are you mocking me?

Ah well, not to worry, I don't give a f*&*k anyways
