A robust box of steel members shines with night lighting atop One Bloor West, under construction in Downtown Toronto. Within the box is the supertall tower's Tuned Mass Damper, which counteracts the force of the wind on the tower, deadening sway that would disturb occupants in gale force conditions. The box will be clad soon, its engineering forever to be hidden from view, robbing us all of this structural goodness.
