Located at the north end of Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood, ANX stands topped off just steps from Dupont station. Designed by Teeple Architects for Freed Developments, the building features two distinct uses: a 13-storey condominium to the west at 328 Dupont and a 9-storey office building to the east at 318 Dupont. Since UrbanToronto's last update in July, 2024, when the sculptural precast panels began to define the residential facade, ANX has reached its full height, with much of its sculptural cladding and glazing now installed.
In a distant view looking east along Dupont Street, the mid-rise stands topped off as of November, 2024. The aluminum window wall system with glazed spandrel panels has been installed across most of the west elevation, leaving only the top floor awaiting installation. The construction hoist remains positioned near the far west end of the building.
The residential section of ANX showcases its signature sculptural design, with precast panels arranged in a distinctive pattern with fibre cement plank cladding. The aluminum window wall system is installed across the staggered balconies. At street level, stone veneer on precast concrete panelling wraps around the top of the ground floor. On the second and third floors, sections for curved glazing are covered with clear tarps, while tan insulation panels are visible beneath, also visible along the building's southwest corner.
Looking northwest in December, 2024, the east-end office component features vertical stone veneer panels spanning the podium's first three levels. These panels will be joined by glazing to complete the facade. Above, the aluminum curtain wall system, with glazed spandrel panels, is installed on four levels of the east elevation and partially on the south elevation's lower levels, while the curved corner awaits installation.
At the start of this year, viewed looking south from across the rail corridor, the mechanical penthouse volumes are prominent at the roofline. Behind the concrete crash wall at grade are brackets for charcoal grey metal panel cladding on the two-storey north-end podium volume that will extend from the upper storey's base. The office floors on the left feature a fully installed aluminum curtain wall system with taller glazing panels, emphasizing their greater floor heights compared to the residential levels on the right. The residential section showcases dark glazing paired with black mullions and spandrel panels, with white framing breaking up the facade. Installation of glazing on the 13th floor is still pending, while rooftop preparations include a sun-shading trellis on the west and an exterior mechanical louvre screen between the penthouse volumes. The crane remains in place at the centre.
Standing at 48.07m, ANX will bring 118 condominium units alongside 2,213m² of office space to the area.
