While it appears in this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor dannyboii that Torontonians have a new plank to walk, the steel girder being lifted into place across Yonge Street beside the Union Station Rail Corridor is the spine upon which a new eastward expansion of the PATH network is being constructed. Under construction in the background is the podium for the North Tower at CIBC SQUARE, and from it projects the girder. The first part of the girder now sports a ribcage to which cladding and interior fittings of the pedestrian bridge will be applied, while the newer part closer to the camera at to Backstage Condos awaits its build-out. The bridge could open late next year.
