On a recent evening, UrbanToronto Forum contributor yrt+viva=1system looked up from ground level and snapped this shot of the nearly topped-off CG Tower in Vaughan's nascent city centre area. The 60-storey building, shifts in steps to one side as it rises, stepping back gradually on the west side, while cantilevering bit-by-bit on the east side, with the floor-plates of each "shifted box" incrementally smaller than the one below them. While the overall effect is of a building that just might topple over…
…it won't topple over.
