The month of October saw municipal election campaigns bringing the housing crisis into the spotlight, while the provincial government tabled a controversial plan of its own in hopes of delivering relief. Development across the GTA continued, and here we are taking a look at the hottest stories, most searched project Database files, and busiest Forum discussions from October, 2022.
Our Top 10 Most Read News Stories
October's Top 10 list begins at number 11 with another high-rise proposal that hopes to intensify Toronto's iconic heritage street, Elm Street, even further. Should the rezoning application be approved, the city may see another high-profile, high-controvesy heritage facadism project.
11. 39 Storeys Proposed on Elm Street in Adaptive Reuse Zoning Submission
Readers were excited to see that the long anticipated development of housing in Toronto's Port Lands may eventually materialize in a story covering the first tower proposal for the area; it earned the second spot on the most read list. 16. Ontario Line
The Lower Don Lands Redevelopment almost cracked the Top 5 in the Threads section as well this month, but the regulars remained topical.
